Someone in a band called Throne told me to to listen to these English sludge bands. So you can have them too.

http://moghul.bandcamp.com/album/moghul

I've not listened to them yet, so this could be interesting

my playlist for the day is weird. I went from Nicole Atkins to The Rile demo, now I am on to Overmars. There was some shai hulud today, some Julie Christmas, and then some planning for burial. it's been a wide ranging day.

Is that Rile demo any good? I never get around to checking out streaming stuff unless it's a hip hop mixtape

Thank you very much.

BTW, I know a good band from Belfast, Northern Ireland: Slomatics. Take a listen to their "Griefhound":

(David Main from D*A*M used this song for the Meathead page on his website...)

I like how it spazzed out when you would let it feed back, and the drones would leave it on and not flickering. Worked out well!

I haven't listened to 'em yet, but I know they did a split with CONAN, so they're probably awesome.

Also, Bongripper's Hail Satan Worship Doom is great paper grading music. I can't grade to heavy stuff with vocals, because I pay too much attention. Bongripper, though, is perfect background music that keeps my spirits up when my students are disappointing the fuck out of me, haha.

The bass dude I've been jamming with had ALL of his amp gear stolen out of his car overnight. Way bummed. USA-made SVT Classic, Sunn 410 and Ampeg 1x15. Cops ain't doin shit, though I'm not surprised. Hopefully his insurance company will come through and he can get gearified again.

I like it. Sam has some pretty killer bands, so i usually check out anything he posts. it's definitely his more Botch-Y side.
