Just got an email back from Kevin. Looks like $135 per pickup. Told Kevin about the frets and he said that if I shipped it out to him he would install the pickups, level the frets, and make sure everything was rock solid before shipping it back. What a saint!

Wow, so AWESOME! Seriously, that guy fucking RULES!

He doesn't say "No". Every request I shoot his way, he's like, "Sure, no problem." I love that about him.

Yeah I'm so stoked. He said between the pickup install and the frets it should only take a day, so when it comes in he can probably get it done in a few hours. THIS MAN IS A GOD.

Travis Bean body shape, shaved down and thinner.
EGC hum buckers with coil tap.
The knobs will have a similar lay out to your guitar.
All aluminium, hollow. Black Inlays, black knobs, White Powder coated Gloss.
20 weeks.

fuuuuuuuck. That's not as bad a wait as I would have thought, though I guess. Sounds fucking sweet though. I'm sure it will be about 3-4 pounds lighter than the Obstructures to boot!

Hmm, finished my payment and gave him my address a few weeks back before Christmas. Haven't heard since. Might give a quick email and/or get a Tracking number

Well, if it makes you feel any better (at least for a little while) it's sitting in its case without pickups or a back plate, waiting for me to pack it up and be without it for a few days

Sounds badass!

Worst part of the 20 week build thus far has been waiting for it to begin haha! I ordered in October so now I'm busy waiting to wait. Gonna be so very good in the end but I need to try and forget about it awhile.

That's the goal with my Chessie too, should feel perfect.

The Schaller Mini tuners Kevin uses on some models are really solid. They actually look/feel almost normal-sized in terms of the tuning button/key itself but the small casing dramatically reduces weight. I had to source mine (along with the bridge) direct from Germany tho cuz I wanted a satin chrome finish damn it! Of course we only get Chrome/Nickel/Gold/Black in the States but they have a bunch of cool options if you pony up and order INT'L.

In the end, I was able to go with a thicker neck spec than normal thanks to those small, light tuners and I'm assured there will be zero dive. Fingers crossed. I got these btw....
