Man, I'm so bummed. This summer I bought two of Left Hand's limited run dopplebock, TNT. The first bottle was good, but it seemed like a more fall-appropriate beer to me, so I saved the 2nd bottle until this weekend... and it was horrible. The flavors had matured, but in all the wrong ways. Someone commented that it was like the beer had been mixed with fish sauce. Ah well... if nothing else, it was a good excuse to gout and buy a bottle of BBC Shabbadoo and one of their Coffeehouse Porter's.

...was EXCELLENT this year. Disappeared from my town in like mid-September, but I managed to get a few 4-packs before I realized it was not coming back.
Best pumpkin beer. I miss it already.
Had some Southern Tier Pumking... MUST drink as a dessert... almost like drinking a very nutmeggy pumpkin pie. Pretty good, just different from last year.

Had the same thing happen with half a six of Lagunita's Brown Shugga that I let set for six months. The last bottle is in the fridge, I'm afraid to taste it. The other two were horrible. On the other hand, I found a couple bottles of last winter's Leinie's 1888 Bock (cheap local seasonal beer), and they are awesome.
I've been drinking this for shifters at work lately.
Probably a more appropriate beer for the summertime,...but still a good beer none the less. Hops isn't overdone,...nice balanced flavor,....pretty smooth going down.
