i like Sunn 0))) OK, but to me they're less "doom" than they're an "avant-garde noise band," which i mean in the most positive way possible.

also troof. I think they've been moving farther and farther away from doom into what you're describing. They always have certain tracks with 'riffs' but others are really about a different means of pushing sound

Harvey Milk is potentially one of the best bands I have ever heard. The dynamics and emotions they're able to convey astound me.

I also dig OCEAN. Their tracks are like a huge journey with such interesting movements

I often have to keep myself from posting in threads where people are talking about gear or music that i don't care for...i don't feel that it's appropriate to say "actually, i hate XXX pickups/boxes/whatever" or "<your favorite band> sucks" in a thread about how they're the Greatest Thing Since Sliced Cheese.

Confession: Any time someone talks about an american "police state, plutarchy, conspiracy," or other "america is secretly totalitarian," kind of statement, I want to slap them.

I agree...i want to punch the typical conspiracy theory nerd repeatedly. no, the fucking WTC wasn't destroyed in a controlled demolition, and they don't have a refrigerated alien at Wright-Patterson AFB. in this country, there's no way a secret could possibly stay hidden that long.

Depends on your definition of "controlled demolition," doesn't it?
I mean, someone was flying the plane...

If you talk to someone who's been in the military long enough to hear stories of the fuckups they've worked with or been through, you'll quickly understand that there's no way in hell an Illuminati-style shadow government could exist.
That level of efficiency is just impossible.
