Metal with plenty of mids!!!!

Mid controls are a must on muffs, personally. The scooped sound is what it is but I don't want it 90% of the time.

I am just saying that if you have an off-on relationship with muffs then most of those off-periods can be solved with a mids control on the muff. Also you gots to push them with something which is just the best

Mids knob or blend knob to save some precious frequencies. I got both on the IC Muff and they're super useful.

Yeah like I want it to sound scooped to sound like a muff but i dont like the scooped. Maybe get one with a scoop that is tuned differently? Like scoop at like 450hz instead probably would be balls heavy. Blends kinda suck on muffs tbqh, it just makes it disappear more to me cause all picking attack and midrange comes thru the dry

I also don't love blends on muffs, but pregain boosts and mids controls are great. Blunderbuss / musket is a great example. You can get traditional scooped wooly muff sounds or a tight focused crushing tone.
