i hate Hallowe'en, and i know exactly why. for one thing, i feel like i get up every day and put on a costume to go out and meet the world, and thus there's no excitement involved in the idea of putting on a different costume. for another, the last thing i want to see is another level of artifice added to social interactions, and another layer of mask (literally) to have to read through. third, it's one of the big Amateur Nights of the year along with New Years' Eve, St. Patrick's Day, and Cinco de Mayo here in California...the excuses for people who don't party much and can't hold their drugs/liquor to go out, get fucked up, and get into trouble that can often involve everyone in the vicinity.

lol...he thinks people only get fucked up and make fools of themselves in California. We call that Tuesday around here.
Meh, tired of deli job.[warning: venting follows] Got "lectured" again because we had three customers ask for fried chicken and one of them left after the shift lead put the chicken in the frier(which we would need anyway, it just wouldn't be "even" amounts). Seriously, if you're going to tell me what to do, I don't mind at all, just do it in as few words as possible, then shut. the. fuck. up. Don't talk about how you get frustrated when your superior thinks you should be at the front of the deli more and you can't cause you're frying chicken. Don't threaten to make me work the friers. Fucking teach me how to do it, then stop bitching. I'm one day away from having a solid other job and putting my two weeks in. Don't make me throw you under the bus and talk to the store manager about all the bull shit first shift doesn't do as far as customer service goes(manager is kind of a nut about that). Also, when I'm scheduled to leave at 8pm(to go to my moonlighting job), I shouldn't have to emphasize that I need to leave then only to get a "maybe." If you expect me to show up at time, I expect to get out on time. Respect my time, and I'll respect yours.[/vent]
ok, got a 4 pack of Mickey's tall boys and some buffalo wings on the way home, just got to wait til the parents go to sleep and it's smokey-time

no, that was a punctuation error; i meant that Cinco de Mayo is an additional one of those days here that it probably isn't in places like WI or MT where people from Mexico aren't a significant part of the population. remember, i grew up in Chicago? i've seen people get fucked up on St. Patty's Day, BELIEVE me. seen 'em turn greener than Mayor Daley pere dyed the river.

I just meant generally. C'mon, you know people use any excuse to drink. Cinco de Mayo just means you have to drink tequilla instead of the usual rum/vodka/whiskey (the last one in my case). Interesting things happen in California. In rural Wisconsin, people drink to forget they are in rural Wisconsin.

Deadlines are getting moved up and my computer's power supply port is getting fishy.
Everything's backed up, but I smell disaster ahead.
