i have a Malgorithm YESSSSSSS. the 2. it is beautiful in so many ways. i'd like it perfectly if it would remember what state the Skew/Image/I Forget The Other Button's Name Is were in on reboot, but yes. sounds awesome.

Ugh at some point since I bought it, I forgot how to use my Doepfer bit crusher module. I was about to unscrew it and toss it against a wall but then I watched a Raul’s world of synths video on it and yeah, I’m stoops. Forgot that the BC and SR knobs are wired inversely. Clean is BC CCW and SR CW... so I’m gonna just spend more time with it... but at only 2hp wider and in (((stereo))) ¿or dual mono also? the Malgorithm 2 looks mighty attractive...

two things, Mylars vidja for the Keystep makes me want to spend more time inside it (giggety). i've barely used mine, missing out i think.

and audio recording question - i've been lazy about getting my computer DAW clock sync'ing Pams. what i do now is record an 8 bar loop of something easy to tell start and time like a hi hat or 4 on the floor kick, then use the tempo of that for the file. it's always a micro amount off, like if Pam's sayd it's 120 bpm, my DAW loops it perfectly at 120.19 bpm.

works fine, everything recorded can be cut up by time signature grid and moved around.

question is - if i recorded like that, ended up with say 5 minutes of audio bits all recorded at 120.19 bpm, then time stretched all the files down to 120, would that introduce any artifacts? or stay clean as recorded?

Stretching the grid is the right answer, stretching/shrinking the audio shouldn’t be necessary at that point.

jia. if i tempo match then set the global tempo to the slightly off Pam's time, grid is locked in. i hold out hopes of recording THINGS to take in to have mixed/vocals put over/record bass in a decent spot eventually, just dunno if i'm shooting myself in the foot having it be a SLIGHTLY odd tempo?

also, MiniBrute 2....... interests me.

Yeah I loved my MicroBrute, but it was a little too bare bones for me. I always wanted to upgrade to the MiniBrute, but ended up getting a Sub 37 in a trade so never thought about it again. But now this is re-igniting some interest for me. So many more patch points and sliders

Edit: I'm also really curious what their website means by: "Minibrute is back, and this time it's not alone"

I don’t think so. The recording you already have should act as the master for whatever you add to it. The only potential problem I can see is if you are trying to sync to someone else’s DAW recording, like if you told a collaborator to record their own tracks in their own DAW at 120bpm, then something would have to get squished or stretched.

Darkster - coooool. pretty much what i thought, but have this image of going in somewhere with a bunch of files asking them to setup their DAW at SomethingSomethingPointSOMETHING and it being a huge issue.

ALL THE BRUTERY OPTIONS.

i mean, if they make the DrumBrute.... better. i would be soooo into another one. it's good, the sequencer is good, but the not being able to save/recall sounds and really limited efx section killed my interest for it's HUGENESS.

also, i love the MiniMod VCO, but i get afeared of dealing with analog slipping issues. kinda want to try out a Befaco Even VCO. i LOVE having the Octave Up Down options, and the Even looks gooooood.

anyone use one?

I can see myself running this with a more abstract Eurorack set up. :snax:

Assuming it's a case that holds a minibrute and a 3u rack then that's a pretty damn good idea for a compact setup with an independent synth / key controller.
