yes. COMPLETELY. the serendipity is amazing.

Nirvana........ was never my cup of tea. i didn't get the "genius". but whatever. sad that he was so unhappy that that was his solution.

I like the band a lot...not my absolute all-time total fave band, but they do get a lot of play-time in my iPod and stuff. The English minor in me does enjoy the wordplay that Kurt did in a lot of their songs, such as the quote above.

And even tho it's cold and heartless to say after the fact...

...I agree, but given who he was married to, etc etc etc...

Yes, the heavy riff in Milk It is definitely similar to the riff in that Melvins tune, but I actually think Milk It kills that song because of the dynamics. The Melvins track has none at all. But maybe I'm partial. :idk:

I always dug Nirvana, other than about half of Nevermind. Also, they left one of the best tracks off of In Utero (and yes, it is a total Melvins ripoff):

I think the only thing I liked about Nirvana was the Foo Fighters.

When Smells Like Teen Spirit came out,...everyone in my peer group was into Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer,....so to that I thank Nirvana for waking people up to the fact that there actually is music with soul, intensity, anger, passion. Was there music that embodied those characteristic at the time and before? For sure, there always has been...but Nirvana's mainstream appeal threw it in everybody's face and to me,....that's a good thing.

I loved Nirvana and had all their albums (In Utero and before),...read the books,...watched the videos,...but after Kurt took himself out,....I lost interests/tastes change. Something about Nirvana appealed to me but looking back I can see that the only thing really ground breaking about the band was the fact that it was essentially a pop/punk band that was heavily and successfully marketed to the mainstream.
