yeah, i would change them too. or at least paint little white indicator dots on them...they don't exactly stand out against the black background.

I was recently in a similar position and went with the Fairfield long life- curious your thoughts on the shsl when you get it.
I'll write down some thoughts for sure. I tried D.o.S.'s Long Life last year and thought it was excellent, but it probably adds less coloring/character compared to the SHSL. That's at least my hunch based on what I heard from the LL and how I remember my MS-20 mini sounding when running my bass through it.

I'm not big on the shape. I don't like those chicken head style knobs either. I'll probably just throw some chunky boss style ones on there.

mine has regular Fairfield-style pointer knobs in white with black indicator lines. not showy, but nice and extremely legible. funny how the FEB changed between November when this was taken and now; the Attack Decay and expression pedal are off, and the Generation Loss v2 is on.

There have been a few Peavey-based "clones" recently (first one I saw was the Ten Years Is A Decade, then the Acorn Solid State, and so on), but those were abooot $300 smackers, and why?
There's gotta be a $15 pcb out there somehweres (just got 2 be), but at least the 3-year clownening of this Peavey situation has finally come back to Peavey proper.
There's one for $10, from Dunn Effects, doing the Peavey Bandit 65 (earliest silver stripe).

i’ve been bogged down in a complicated project guitar and finally had a chance to test the Haxan i ordered. long story short, it’s probably going to knock the Distortion+ off my board, which is something considering that it’s been on every board i’ve ever had. the Haxan gets pretty close to my favored D+ settings but does a lot more besides. at first i thought it might take the Buzzaround spot, but it’s not gainy enough to get into Buzzaround/Tone Bender territory. i really like Jero’s stuff.

Haxan is fantastic.

Jero really did some nice work on it!

I had a little GAS attack the other day and ordered a EQD Dispatch Master (limited black/silver hammertone variant) and a Boss HM-2W. I have managed to get this far without owning a single EQD pedal, but I have been curious about the Dispatch Master for a LOOONNNGGG time. The paint job on this one just pushed me over the edge. I recently snagged an old MIJ HM-2 (I had one back when they could be had for under $100, but I didn't spend enough time with it to really get to know it), but I kinda wanted to check out the Waza version too. One shop had a discount coupon going on it, so I went for it. Fuck it

Grabbed an IE Xerograph from Goroth. Old three knob version. Always been curious about IE and it was a very friendly price. 2025 year of the filter?!?

Maybe? Planning a bunch of pedal mods for when it’s warm enough to solder on the porch and thinking about finally changing the resonance switch to a pot in my Minifooger Drive. Demos out there that this will unlock full self-oscillating madness in the ladder filter. Keep having the thought to do that and set up a board with the Drive and Bliss Factory with some expression pedals sweeping their filters to see whether I can just be done with wahs. (My first pedal was a Dunlop Crybaby I still have and used to use a lot, but like never anymore.)
