devi is s moron. see also: that thread on FSB where she threatened to sue JHS for cloning her pedal. news flash: you can't do that.

if you could, mike matthews would be so tied up in litigation that his lawyers haven't been born yet.

then she threatened to sue for libel despite never having been mentioned by name. that broad is poison (no bel biv devoe).

"If they [Dwarfcraft] try to sue me, they are going to be in for a rude awakening because the contract we signed is pretty much shite."

So Devi Ever entered into a contract that was supposed to be equitable agreement between cooperating parties with the impression that the contract was "shite" and legally unenforceable (if it is or isn't in actual fact has yet to be determined)

While I certainly wouldn't look to Devi as a reliable source of legal analysis, her position does speak volumes about her character.

[dwardfract, I realize you don't wish to speak to these issues and I respect that. I do hope it is acceptable that I'm commenting on it. Her actions are morally reprehensible]

Of course not. We communicated extensively. If she had reservations, she did not express them then. If she had, we would have gladly pulled the plug.

What you have to understand is that I had a really good job at a software company before this. It's not like we were out of money or people weren't buying our pedals.

My favorite version was in Natural Born Killers.

It's pretty basic really. Devi is saying the contract is shite (i understand she is from Texas originally, so the whole "shite" with an e thing is a bit of an affectation).
well, if she thought it was shite, why, if she was working in good faith would she sign that??

If you were making a contract with someone you liked and wanted to see do well - wouldn't you want a fair contract that clearly spelled out expectations and protected the interests of both you and your friend?
Would you want your friend to sign a Shite contract?

Wish that was true in a couple cases for me.

The Test Pattern is the ugly child I never knew I wanted or needed, and nothing else quite does what it does.

I'd love to strip my board of dramas.
Oh yeah, haven't tried that one, but it seems cool. Didn't mean to trash her users in any way, just wanted to point out that I think her image was at least as important as her builds regarding her success.

Got a Truly Beautiful Disaster incoming. Trying to be psyched for it, even though this "thing" has left a bad taste in my mouth. It's important to separate between designs and designer, but it's not always easy.

Could care less about the image. Not impressed by anime-video-game-whatever, I just want stuff that works.

Before I knew anything about the drama, I liked Devi's pedals because of the Scott Pilgrim aesthetic. The pixels and anime and whatnot. Also, Kevin Shields uses so many of them, the Godzilla, the Torn's Speaker, the White Spider, etc. So that was a big selling point. Plus a lot of them have a pretty good price.

After the fact, I still like them, but it's off-putting. She's just so darn crazy. And the sad thing is, I think a lot of people in the SJW set assume she's the victim, because of Billy, etc., and jump to support her... until their first run-in with her, and then they realize, "Oh shit, maybe some people claiming to be victims are actually using that as a crutch." So in that way, I suppose she is educating people and doing her part to dispel SJW naivité... I speak from experience.

Wait... did she steal her aesthetic from Scott Pilgrim?

She's been building pedals before Scott Pilgrim was a thing.

To clarify, I meant the comic.
