4 Foxx Tone Machines. One is up for grabs for $160 shipped. Hit me up!

Footswitch for octave fuzz/fuzz modes while simultaneously switching between each modes' own tone control. Toggle for silicon or germanium clippers.

List of projects:

1) FM2 for Hyphen Nation - just scored an original FM2, I have been using the same circuit board but I am going to go through all of the components and see if they all match the schematic that's online. The old clone I made years ago and the clones with mods I have made since sound very close to the original. The original does sound a bit tighter with the fatter strings. Really interesting to compare an original fuzz to what you have actually made without hearing an original. There's some things I like about the original that my clones lack and vice versa.

2) Bee Baa fer dub - will be house in a 125B with a tone control bypass.

3) tufteef - Rat with input cap toggle and a rotary for 6 clipping options

4) hatshirt - Rat/Big Muff - Rat with input cap toggle and rotary for clipping. Big Muff 47 Ram's Head with a toggle or footswitch for an extra gain stage, and a mids knob. Did a PCB layout, can't remember if I added anything else.

5) decomposing - A tweaked out FY2, a Candy Apple Fuzz, Fm2, or something else. TBD.

6) PLL - Found another design from the 70's that incorporates a phase locked loop chip for a guitar synth and breadboarded it's front end. Pretty good, sounds similar as the original design as they both end up with a square wave hitting the logic chips. There's some other really cool features in that old design that I want to try out, as well, mainly a sample and hold function that can be switched in before the PLL circuitry. There's some other bits in the old design that may be cool to add on like a leslie circuit, filters, etc. We'll see.

Also, thinking of changing my brand name from the Out Sound to just LaoWiz as that seems to stick better. I'm not really a company and this is just more of an artistic outlet, so maybe LaoWiz is more like a signature. The Out Sound comes from one of my favorite noise rock records from the nineties by a band from San Diego called Slug. It's maybe a too company sounding name and hasn't really caught on as a lot of these projects are custom. Let me know what you think....

Everyone just seems to refer to your pedals as "LaoWiz" anyway. As in "OMG, this LaoWiz Such&Such-A-Fuzz is fuckin' awesome!!!"

So, yeah, seems like a logical progression. :)*

Thanks for the input, guys. Don't know if I'll change it or not. I love your logo, Nic. Maybe I should work on Out Sound and LaoWiz logos and put it up for a vote. I used to think of doing a LaoWiz graffiti style logo. Time will tell. I should finish PLL first, I guess....

As a name, I really like "The Out Sound"…a lot.
As an expression of creative freedom and what matters most to you in why you build these in the first place, I dig going with LaoWiz. Feels more direct, personal, and reflects that these are art machines.

Th Out Sound: Art Machines
Or Laowiz Art Machines sounds cool

But yeah both names are great
Maybe if you ever go into more standardised runs they could be the out sound, bc Laowiz definitely reflects the personal nature of each project

Also very cool pedals on the horizon, a lot of lucky fuzzlovers

Thanks for commenting. Not sure if I'll change the name. If I ever did shirts, the Out Sound may work better instead of LaoWiz. I don't think I could wear a shirt that said LaoWiz. Would kinda feel like I was wearing my own band's tshirt.
