I totally agree. MGS and Half-life were game changers and it was for the best. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity for a jab at Elvis impersonators. :excellent:

sorry if i've already bitched about this, but even if i have i'm gonna say it again. the underwater scenarios in AC4 are annoying as hell. they look nice but the controls are awful IMO. i'm no pro but c'mon.

It's a video game law that you have to include an underwater level that everybody hates.

Especially in the control of the Assassin's Creed team. They have to include at least ONE incredibly annoying feature in order to maintain their tradition. The first game had many, including psychotic drunks and an inability to swim and maintain synchronicity. Revelations, then, had the defending of the safehouses.

I've been playing a ton of Rogue Legacy. In my opinion, it's the best platformer since Super Meat Boy and on even ground in terms of quality. I love that the castle changes every time you play and the unique character traits for every play through keeps things fresh. Who doesn't love a flatulent character or one who can only see the world through an Old Timey filter?

I agree 100%, I love that game! Rogue Legacy would be in my best of 2013 for sure, what a cool and fun and funny game.

You might also enjoy Volgarr the Viking, it's not quite as involved as Rogue Legacy but it's a super cool platformer too, awesome throwback to the fun side-scrolling adventures of yester-year.

first thing that jumped to mind after laughing about that was how i DID dig the water scenarios in shadow of the colossus...

i'm at i think 86% now but feel like the game's ending since all i have left on the map are two more underwaters and two legendary ships (which are a BITCH, at least for me).
been totally weird that the rope darts still haven't been introduced.

it's also sucked how you always get noticed when up above people in this one, until WAY up. it was way better sneaking around trees & rooftops & not being noticed.

edit: i also hit my first straight up glitch not long ago. sequence 9/2, had the two guys i was sent to assassinate completely disappear. killed EVERYONE in the area, green map spot they were supposed to be in never changed. had to redo it entirely.

I LOVED scouting the area and planning my attack on rooftops, knowing that they couldn't see me. FACK!!

i finished AC4 today. lil' spoiler below.
NSFW: show
the deaths of likeable characters throughout the story line blew, the last several chunks of the game were pretty lame / annoying and the conclusion was a nice attempt at being a cheesy happy ending but COME ON. overall i agree w/ game informer's take on it, they redirected focus to the sailing and underwater and trying to put a pirate story together but didn't do a very good job of continuing the assassin's creed aside from giving this pirate the eagle eye, wrist blades and abilities to climb and hide. don't get me wrong, it was once again very addictive for me, i'd probably rank it in second of the lot because i hated sailing in 3 and dug it in this one, but the trilogy of 2 is still the pinnacle of the series thus far IMO. last up (for now) they needed to do so much more work with battles at sea, it was terrible trying to make one gun be the active one being aimed without being able to watch where you also happen to be heading. likewise with the underwater missions, if i'd known i'd have been map marking everything down there instead of just looking around for it since that would show the target's depth. OH ONE MORE and the throwing knife AND the rope darts NEVER WORKED FOR ME UNTIL I REPLAYED MISSIONS AFTER FINISHING. lame. still loved it overall, but man... should've given it another year of development...

For PS3 i've enjoyed the Uncharted series. Max payne 3 is Great. The Last of Us was intense!! Dark souls was enjoyable. and .. i still play NHL14 .

i also have my Nes set up next to the PS3. i was a crazy Nes collector. but over the years the nes games had to go ..
and make room for Pedals, and Gear :joy:

here's the Remnants of the Nes games :

Nice!
I just dug out all my NES games too, but the system is dead...the main PCB is messed up, which is too bad 'cause the problem is usually with this one replaceable slot thing. I don't even wanna know how much a working NES costs now that the kids who weren't alive when the NES was around are getting into old video games.
But do they even buy stuff or is it all emulated? I don't know...
I have seen more of those new sketchy consoles that can play NES and Genesis games lately, though.

i just took apart my nes system ( youtube can show you) and put in a new connector pin.
also. most times it's the games connectors that are dirty, and just need a clean.

and. it sounds funny. but, i have more success when i put the games into the system and just leave them. then power on.
don't push the game down, or bother closing the lid.
