It's a 25th Anniversary Musicman. Has tons of tone options including a passive or active mode. LOVE it.

Cool, didn't know you were a Musicman guy as well. Do you run your 25th active or passive most of the time?

Yea I love Musicman. Used to have a standard Stingray and a Bongo HH (want it back sooooooooo bad!!!!). Down to just the 25th Stingray HSS now.
As far as passive and active go. I find myself switching it up from time to time depending on what I'm playing. I mostly use passive mode because it seems to work better with most effects. If I need an extra sound boost or more clarity, I'll put it in active. I also have been switching up string types and trying to get what sounds best on it. Right now it's strung with Rotosound Flatwound medium gauges. But I am starting to think Flats sound like shit on this bass. I had it strung with some DR Marcus Miller Fat Beams and those sounded fantastic! I don't know why I don't just stick to one type of string. ADD I guess.
Also I think Musicman's have a very thick sound but can be thin when needed. Very versatile basses IMO.

Certainly not for everybody

I never could get a sound out of my Stingray that I liked..
It was always either too boomy or too bright/brittle...never could seem to find a happy medium..

Sometimes I wish I still played bass...but I would definitely choose a different one if I were given a second chance...

I miss having a Stingray. I have my L2000 configured like one (bridge pick-up, in series, pre-amp on) and it hasn't changed in many moons.

I've literally owned at least one of every model up except the 25th/Reflex. I'd really love a 5 string HH Reflex, I think its the best sounding HH model they have. I was a huge Bongo guy back in the day. Of course now I'm in love with my two Big Al's, I run the SSS one passive and the H one active, to me it just sounds better that way. Luckily none of my pedals seem to change at all when flipping between modes.
