I love your LP, she looks fun, love that green...
And definitly nothing wrong about your Jazzy, she's so hooooot!!!
I'd like a white JM with matched headstock so bad...and the mapple neck is just so beautiful, weird at first because we're not used to see it, but really cool and one of a kind.
I'm a bit jealous :)

That lp is awesome. not so big on the blue, but that lp finish is wicked.

By the way,
This is the real "not for pussies" Antigua finish I have on my Jag  :

It stills making my eyes bleeding but I come close to get used to now...
But I made my choice and will purchase a red pearl pickguard so my eyes won't hitch me again  when I'll look at her!!!

Again,...only the tele has it going on in Antigua. I swear the the dark part of the burst appears to be puke green.

^ Seems both the vintage and early 2000's MIJ reissue Antigua have the green/aged Antigua look to them. I know the MIJ were modeled after that look.

The newer FSR line went back to the NOS color, no aging so it's kinda grey-green as opposed to the snotty/pukey hues it takes on later in life.

what year is that, is it like a 61 reissue or something like that
custom shop?

Thanks dudes! I love the matching headstock too, Fender doesn't do that near enough now days. The maple board is unique too, seems like a love/hate thing but I always have rosewood and ebony so maple was welcomed.

It's a Custom Shop '58 JM, think it's based off the first or second year of the Jazzy's introduction when they initially offered it with a maple fretboard. Only two were made so it's almost one-of-a-kind.

It's a really light relic too which I prefer to the beat looking relics. Has some minor finish checking and hardware oxidation but the best part is they sanded the gloss off the back of the neck which makes me wanna do that to ALL my guitars. If done properly, a relic'd Fender can feel perfectly broken in, just feels and plays right. oh, the Custom Shop wound the pickups a little hotter and fuller like they did back in the day, sounds incredible! Only upgrade required was a Mastery bridge. :thumb:

Thanks man! Yeah, I prefer the "aged" green to the blue as well but I believe we're in the minority. ;)

Nice lp, schnikes. Hopefully my pelham blue 535 will age to a color closer to yours and less like some of the lime-y green ones I've seen. It's hard to tell from the pic, but your guitar reminds me a lot of fender's jade pearl metallic color

Thanks! And yeah, that Fender color is a great comparison. Just saw a Tele recently in that jade pearl metallic and was taken back by how close it was to my LP, extremely similar. :thumb:

Seems like Pelham will go either too lime-y like you mentioned or this weird emerald shade more comparable to Gibson's Iverness green. In reality, my LP looks nothing like a naturally aged Pelham but I'm happy Gibson couldn't get it right, haha, prefer how it turned out more subtle than bright lime. I think natural aging can vary and just depends on the particular batch of nitro Gibson uses and the elements it's exposed to. That nitro clear coat is what gives the aged vibe on that particular finish so things like cigarette smoke play a huge role in making that color happen.

I know with other finishes like their Silverburst, the lead based paint oxidizing is what led to the green hue with age. That's since been removed and new Silverbursts won't ever age that way which is a shame imo. Better than lead poisoning though, I suppose. ;)
