:excellent:

I have been spending way too much on fun gear because I can. Before I get in to this beauty I will tell you how I got here.

Long story short - when you own a DE Dunable and a USA custom one the quality of the DE is about 80 - 90% of a USA version. After the mad GAS flip I had a month ago it sat in a case and I only picked it up about 4 time since getting it. I LOVE my DE and that one is a sold keeper of a guitar but I knew I had to trade it as I simply don't have the space to store more than 4-5 instruments. Plus it had dual coil taps and I am just a one volume knob player.

May weeks of mad GASing local shops left me unsatisfied until I went to Parrot Dice Guitars ( Multnomah Village in Portland Oregon) - Jay and Alex were fucking rad dudes and chatting he handed me this 1970 SG which was played loved with TREX carved in the back. I instantly fell in love - the abuse and love this instrument had endured I knew what to do.

The tuners are all mis-matched which I love - its missing the decorative tail piece and the pick up are defiantly not original ( DeMarzzio Vintage Style pickups)

Just an over all sick instrument.

You know its a lot thicker than most SG necks I have tried but its still baby wrist thin at the first position. I used to not bitch about weight and balance but this guy is light at 7.5 lbs and its perfectly balanced for my dad gut.

Thanks dudes! I will take pictures of the body and back tonight. I plugged it in to my mis-mashed high gain board and it was glorious with scratchy pots and all.

that's right - that's a thing with the taper from super slim at the first to much thicker as you climb - very cool! glad to hear it sounds great (like, duh, of course) and looks-wise it is 100% rad.

Nice variation to have when your other is a Dunable too :D

A friend in college had a 70s SG gifted to him by his brother-in-law. Weirdly narrow at the nut, not the most amazing guitar I ever played, but there was a coolness and a vibe to it. Better deal than my asshole brother trading gear I leant to him for coke and shrugging it off.

This is the best way to describe it - I love things that have character ( like my cyclops - its super different from anything out there)

Anyways here is the back of this thing - its still really in good shape minus the branding.

thats a pretty sick sg!

yrotcaF zzuF get! Quite different from my 2001 one, more splatty and brighter. The old one is a more muffled sound. Don't know how much the spammies contribute to this. Might as well be slight changes in manufacturing or parts over 16 years. I dig it though!

A dude on kijiji near Toronto has this Somms for sale if that’s one you happen to be looking for.

Very much appreciate the heads up. I have managed to find a SOMMS a while back. That pricing is also absurd for a SOMMS.

Fair enough! I always like to keep an eye out if I know someone is looking for something in particular!

GAS continues - took a break today and re bough the MXR Carbon Copy - probably going to relist my Strymon Volante and Specacular Tempest - Great pedals but for what I am trying to accomplish I really don't need the sounds and I can put the money towards other fun things.
