i've had an incredibly annoying intermittent hum in my Laney (hereafter "the big amp" as different to the Electar Tube 10 with the 8" Jensen and the upgraded output transformer, "the practice amp") for weeks which i finally chased down to a bad power tube in V7. boy, EL84s don't last very long at all compared to 6L6/6V6s. i don't even think i've had those in for two years. but anyway, it doesn't go BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ stop BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ any more. i'm calling that a win

Not quite yet. Still have to take some driving lessons and pass the practical driving test to do that
