You actually can coil-split wideranges, I've done it once for a customer! With the newer widerange pickups (that are more like humbuckers in disguise) it sounds actually decent too.
The white wire on the back is where the other 2 conductors would come from, you just add in your split switch there.

And as far as my guitar goes, I'm actually not quite digging it yet. The pickups sound cool but I'm going to switch out the neck, put bigger strings on, put a staytrem bridge on, and change out the allparts trem with a fender one. It's ALMOST perfect. almost.

That's a killer JM, what finish is that, Ice Blue Metallic or Lake Placid Blue??
I haven't tried the Staytrem bridge but I did add their trem arm and collet to my JM and that thing is tops! As for bridges, I love the Mastery on mine, totally smitten with that thing but I've heard many raving about the Staytrem in recent months. Let us know what you think about it.

That JM looks amazing! Love the colour and the pickup covers.
^I just ordered a staytrem bridge after also hearing good things. Should be an improvement over the kinda ghetto knock-off TOM I have in there, even though that works ok. Part of an effort to make my guitar as nice as it can be. Next step is buy screws so the bridge pickup isn't held in with tape!

It's aged ice blue metallic, so it has a yellowish/greenish tint to it in the light, which I love. It's an MJT body and a musikraft neck, I scored the guitar on ebay for under $850 so I couldn't be happier

Needed a lot of work but I guess that's where being a guitar tech works out.
As for the staytrem bridge, I love it on the johnny marr jaguar so I already know I'll love it on a JM!

Finally got this put together. Warmoth baritone neck on blacktop jazzy body with prails. Each pickup has its own toggle for all three modes. The only things left are replacing the bridge because intonating that thing without the stupid screws buzzing on the strings is damn near impossible.... I splurged and ordered a Mastery....
And I'm planning on experimenting with big strings for some LOW tuning on the low strings. weeee!

Nice. Mastery is expensive but pretty much required if you're doing a baritone jazzmaster imo.

Yeah you are gonna love the sustain you get with the mastery. Totally changes how the guitar plays and sounds, in a good way to me. More sustain and even tone. I was gonna buy a les paul but i don't know if i really need to anymore

Changed the guitar for the better!
