Some very cool "bigger picture" ideas about technological disobedience.
This necessity-driven - fuck it - old-school hacker attitude toward technology is what I grew up with. I was too young to appreciate or understand it at the time; but I remember getting all jazzed about the neighbour's new cars; and remember my grandpa and uncles looking up from under the hood of their old 'shitty' cars and being like 'pfffffff... yeah... good luck fixing THAT! Every time you need to change the oil, it's off to the stealership!!', and laughing and getting back to work. At the time, i didn't get it. Now, this kind of stuff is paramount for me to pass along to my son. Thank the Gear Page God, that he's not a moron like I was... and that he's all about tearing shit apart and making random other working shits from the broken pieces.
