I'm gassing hardcore for one of those Ghost tremolos by Lightning Wave in the shark tank. TELL ME WHY I DON'T WANT IT. I really shouldn't spend that kind of money going into the holidays, but I can't stop drooling over the possibilities

Seriously though, the amount of insanely awesome music gear out there right now is pretty insane and I want something new every couple days. Gone are the months of lusting over the same crappy picture of a guitar in the MusiciansFriend catalog while angrily strumming on my cheap guitar and cheap amp and
thinking more expensive stuff would make me a better player.
(it doesn't make me one. i've always sucked and always will.)
(I use variations of this on myself. To varying success

Actually, reading it all boldened there....
Don't do that "I've always sucked and always will " to yourself, might be easy on your wallet short term, but is hard on your soul in the long run.
I think it is mostly true that Prefered_Guitar_Hero will sound better better thru my rig, than I would thru his/hers.
Which leaves me two options: buy gear as a sonic band aid (short term) or finally fucking learn to play that instrument (long term)
On the other hand: nicer gear could bring out nuances/new directions you weren't previously aware of which could open doors for you to become a better player.

The wait-and-see-how-I-feel thing works a lot better for me than thinking about how that effect would improve my playing. It's a tremolo. I've had tremolos in the past, and I know exactly how they effect my playing and how I like to use them. It's the last effect I need to "complete" my pedalboard (as much as it can be "complete").
So, I guess I just need to stop whining and just accept that I have to wait until next year before it's in my gear budget to buy this...

I'm pretty jazzed on ordering this amp. Anyone say a hard nay? I don't need to doom and I also never play 100% clean, just trying to get a nice cleanish tone that is pretty and will cut through and all that dumb stuff. Something a little warmer and prettier than my current Peavey Musician iii.

Here is a link to my band's demo if you want. This isn't super helpful though because the singer recorded the whole thing before getting a band together. With a band it's way louder and more rockin'.

Can you play it first and talk yourself out of it?

i probably need this thread once a month but nah -- buy whatever you want, yolo.
pretty easy to fall into the "i'm not good enough" category but hard to quantify the "i'm having hella fun with this stuff" category.

I feel this. I can't shred, I'm pretty bad at most things guitar, but I'm perfectly happy making the music I make.

Lol you're right I would never talk you out of buying a Pretty Years.
Can anyone convince me I don't need a lap steel? It might be a difficult task because I love steel guitar so much.
