So I brought my At Home rig to practice last night, a Mesa 400 with a pair of Bag End 1x12 cabs. I think the power output is something like 180 watts with 6L6 tubes, and I wasn't sure if this would quite keep up with a full band in terms of volume. Oh. It did. And then some. Those wee fuckin' Bag End cabs KICK with a tube head. I had previously only used them in a band situation with a GK head and it was okay, but not amazing. I was very surprised. By the end of the night I had the master on 7 and was drowning out my drummer. Also I didn't know you could get feedback from a Brassmaster style pedal, but last night the Black Cat was howling like mad. We were pretty drunk, so that definitely helped.

Has anybody seen the overdriven, distorted, etc amps club in the amps forum yet? That paul guy makes me so...so FUCKING MAD AND ANGRY AND FFFFFFFUUUUUUU

I find it so ironic that the distortions we had to live through and work with are now the tones you young guys are actually searching for! Sorry but I find that kinda sad and I pity you. Find your own sound and make it yours. Me I like my bass to sound like one!

Honestly, in my defense, I was insanely drunk when I made that post. It's just bitterness because I can't afford a tube amp.

I missed that, but I've been taking a break from discussion forums as a whole. Yes they are great resources but I'm finding that for the most part there is little distinction between most TB threads and the comments sections on youtube videos. Very little actual content and just a bunch of blowhards blowing hard. Present company excluded.

Sometimes when I'm in the grocery store or something I think about how the person right next to me...down the aisle....anyone in the store might be a Youtube comment poster. They're all around you!



Then I have a panic attack and must leave.
