my "just friend" Jane, who's also poor, has been going to free food giveaway places and getting stuff...today i woke up after being really depressed and up till 4:30AM to find an e-mail from her telling me that there were 2 bags of food on my porch, and there's all KINDS of stuff. she schlepped two bags full of food down the muddy driveway in the rain for me. it made me feel like somebody cares about me. i'm going to take her out for dinner tomorrow. but i felt happy today because of that, which was nice because i was feeling really broken-hearted yesterday.

I walked in at midnight and found my mom watching Sonic Youth on Austin City Limits.

Left almost all my pedz where I can't get them for 2 weeks, but I brought my algal bloom and had a massive jam with just that today. I need to play with just a fuzz pedal more often, so fun.

I've been doing this lately (though with my ECT), but mainly because I'm too lazy to pull my whole board out.

when i wasn't feeling comfortable with hauling all my stuff out while the roommate was here, i was playing through nothing but the 3-knob Great Wall and had a lovely time with it. quoth he: "wow, that's THICK."

found the leak in the cooling system of my truck, which turned out to be a crack in the weld on one side of the radiator. this allowed me to use some epoxy putty from the auto parts store to patch the leak, which apparently is now fixed. i feel like such a functional American male. this is also good because it saves me a potential multi-hundred-dollar repair bill.

Score! The dude that I'm helping mentor for a conference just got his talk accepted. Now comes the fun part: breaking down his presentation style and helping rebuild it.
Edit: I'm sort of a public speaker for a living, for a little context on why I'm helping this dude.
