at this point i'm gonna have to recommend giving up the five-day binges and the girl. self-destructiveness in the cause of unrequited love is highly over-rated.

Every time you feel the urge to do something self destructive you should force yourself to do something productive instead. Eventually it will become natural that you work out negative experiences in positive ways.

i know its not the best thing to do, i just get so fed up with dealing with shit so i drink, . and i'm trying to move on from her. but whenever i have any contact with her she does or says something to give me hope, and its not even me seeing signs of hope that aren't really there. a lot of the times its other ppl pointing them out to me. oh and i forgot to mention, shes my best friends roommate. and i go to a small school so its kind of impossible to just cut her from my life or try to avoid seeing her for a while to move on

Wait, so, what's the obstacle?

Hurdle it!

Make it happen!

Wander on over to her general vicinity and stand there, a nimbus of all that can be, and bespeak the commandment:

"This is happening."

And then when she asks you, with eyes wet with wonder, what you mean--you tell her what you mean.

In other news, I need another cup of coffee. And my coffee machine is broken.

Icing on the cake--many early morning meetings this week already, and more to come.

This group I book to play a couple shows a month is bitching at me that they want to do 4 shows every month. They used to do 4 when the person before me worked there - who was incompetent and was rotating only like 3 or 4 groups. I have dozens of groups that want to play shows, and we only have 8 spots per month. And, this group hasn't done anything new in a while so they're starting to get stale.

My drummer has decided to stop being the drummer in order to be the lead guitarist. :picard:

That sounds like the way a drummer would think.

Tell him to start a second band or learn to do both at the same time?

His main argument is that he wants to add double bass drum to our music, but he can't do it and he doesn't want to learn it.

The other argument is that he might be missing "more" (he already misses about half) practices because of his employment situation, so if we got another drummer we would be able to practice without him.

you know, sometimes it's the smallest things that smack you in the face when you think things are starting to settle down in your heart. i was just looking around the Net and found a link to adorable kitty videos, which you'd think would be a great thing...but that's the kind of stuff i'd always, always send to Kim because i knew it'd make her smile at work. now i don't have anyone to forward adorable kitten pictures to any more  :mope:

and i still have dreams where i hear her coming in the back door, or saying "i'm HO-OME" in the lovely musical voice she used to use back when she still liked me. by now i know i'm better off done with it, but i still miss her and it still hurts.
