How much would they be? I'm prob down. I was thinking about getting one or two more pcbs from him soon anyway, after I finish the ITU.

Fucking beyond clean

cloudscapes wrote:Not pedal..

Part warmoth, part stuff found elsewhere. Body was entirely finished by hand. A couple small blemishes and bits where I ate through the lacquer a bit, but I'm happy how it looks! Pickups are seymour duncan pearly gates, have the mini switches setup to toggle between parallel, series and single coil, and did some hack drill-press routing to add the pickup selector toggle!

Seriously. I've been wanting to build something with a similar look.

This one is a BAT Pharaoh for a friend, he's a big Kurt Russell fan!

Etched then painted with a colour fade then masked and painted again!

sparkfun discontinued it because it was deemed too hazardous. hmm.

I don't use flux on the crystal either, but using it on the chip was enough. even swabbing it afterwards with qtip and a bit of cleaner didn't fix it. It took literally a cleaner bath to fix..

It's still not super clear if it's just the crystal that's sensitive to this flux, or the FV-1, or both. But at least now it's working.
Yeah, it's not intuitive, but water based fluxes must always be cleaned from the board. I've seen this happen in production environments, too.

I would recommend the Kester RMA 186 flux pen. They work great. You can clean the flux if you want it to look nice, but it's OK to leave it on the board. Mouser (and many other places) sell it:

the goddamn lazer etches on those is something else....

In other news Ive built my first pedal in months (unless you count ILFSS2015)

Real life took over a lot this year, but its the holidays now and I had some time to work on this today.
Its the project for the RM Voodoo vibe from Brejna called the Pangea, or in this case Voodoo Viber

The project was quite hefty after a long layoff but it fired up first time.
I decided against a "flavour" rotary to switch out the phase shift capacitors in favour of simply socketing them
Ive only managed to try the "Brejna" variation of the 4 caps thus far, but it sounds pretty cool. I look forward to experimenting more with this!

enjoy pics

Did you design the circuit board?
Because that's seriously a nice design right there.
