Yeah! All six were F&T direct replacements. Nick, can I email or pm you a quick question?

The Sound City is looking good man. As much as I love my 120 I want to get another of those Mark 3s some day. Reckon trading my Simms Watts would get one, just need to find someone interested.

Dude, I have dozens of "loud" vintage amps, including a few 120's, and nothing compares to the power and sound that comes out of a MKIII Sound City. It's by far my favorite all around amp. Bass and guitar. Only other amp that's kinda blown me away is an early plexi 100 and a modern 200w Matamp.

Had two for a while. Should of held on to that second one. Oh well.

I know. I had a friend's 100B for about six months and fell in love with it. That said the 120 does what I need on bass better than anything I've tried.

I did love the 120 on bass. Very solid amp. I always wanted to try a 150.

I'm about to recap my Mig-50, good to see I'm not the only tight arse around!
I'm a little daunted though, as I have to replace the big can caps with some JJs (only ones I could find easily available in the same values), but the old ones weren't clamped on, and earthed with some strange ring at the base, whereas these will be clamped, and only have two terminals (+&-). I was operating under the assumption that the clamp would ground them to the chassis, but I'm not 100% on that.
You know what, I should be asking this in the tech section.

Nice ones anyhow, dude.
:doom:

Post pictures when you recap the Mig! I was snooping around in mine last night and it looked like a few of the caps in mine could use some replacing

clamp is not used to ground a cap can. Its also a very bad way to do grounding. Highly recommend against doing that.

Will do!

Cool, thanks Nick. I thought it seemed a bit wrong, but I may have misread/read some misinformation elsewhere about that.
So if the cans only have the two terminals, whats the best way to go about it?

One is a positive and one is a negative. If it's two, they'll most likely be wired in series where one negative goes to ground. Of course, don't quote me on that, but post pics and maybe we can help out more. Schematic helps too.

I think I'll come back with some pics just to make it clearer later, damn kooky russian happenings in there.
Cheers man.

The drivers in the 2x15 are fucked, one is way quiet and the other crackles sometimes, so I have to replace those.
But aside from that, this whole rig has cost me $320 so far

If I want something portable, I can just leave the 2x15 behind.
Sounds pretty good, too.
