Hey pelliott, that is the roughness. That's a more than staunch effort, man.

Ok, so I had a look back through a few things there, and AxAxSxS pretty much sums up the highlights reel.
I do gotta say though:
SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYER! (in most cringe-worthy slayer fan voice, like that guy on the war at the warfield dvd. I'm not taking the piss, I love slayer.)

but also:
I wish I could get a dwarvenaught, although the shipping would be crippling, and it would probably be too loud for my home jammage...although probably not as loud as my mig50. that thing is stupid. which leads me to two points,
1) those redbears/nikovs look cool
2) I use a monarch driven by a lutherdrive for my dirt.I'm chasing that surrounded by thieves kinda tone thats nice and wooly, but still tightens up in case you need to chugga chugga, does anyone know if a black forest would get me closer (I love the luther, the tone I get out of these two now is a bit more like down though. not a bad thing...).

and also:
That bear conversation was hilarious. Also amusing was that it turned into a weight loss conversation.

vidret, I'm assuming you've studied health? That sounds like the kind of talk I get from my wife a lot. She's a med scientist. She used to work histopathology, so I used to hear about "how the bonesaw broke down today, cause someone tried to section a leg on it, but didn't clean all the gore out". Now she works immuno, so I get to hear about mad diseases...sorry, that was a side note. I'm still putting my brain back together after shitting what little I had out. All sound advice.
I'll take your word on the BF. I just haven't heard a demo yet that displays that side of it. What amp/s are you running into and how dirty are they? Just asking cause the Sovtek does not get dirty at all. Just real fucking loud.

you'd probably save some money if you go for something like this, but not sure if it has enough power:

Stateside? I'm not sure that you can. There are a few that I have seen pictures of In the redbear facebook page in the states, but i don;t know how they got here. I did email them when i got my redbear to try to get a new redbear nameplate because mine was missing. They emailed me back and at first said they had them and were all about selling them to me, but once they found out i was in america, they said something about shipping costs and then kind of ignored me. I am just not sure. at all.

I will definitely check out both companies when I get home. I may just try and find a 70's Traynor Big B 810 in my area and pair it up with the 810 that the new guitar offered
For me to use for now too. Definitely have me sold on an 810 and 415 combo though... Thanks for talking me out of the 412/215/810 combo hahaha. It's cheaper that way too.

I believe they are 800w each divided 8ohm 4x10 or 1600w as a mono 4ohm. As pointed out in another post the 4x15 without the power amp to really push it, is more to look loud then it is to be loud. Since they are so high powered and mainly focus on low frequencies you would need alot of power to get it thumping and worth the investment. If you can't get loud enough with an 8x10 and 2x15 then you might have some other issues hahaha

The Wood Wizard wrote:But for reals though, im looking for a speaker that will handle bass AND guitar duties. I wanna make a 2x15 @8 ohms.
Bass amp is about 500 watts when running 2 8 ohm loads.
Guitar amp will be 100 watts, also running a 2x12 @8 ohms.

Big bens look promising, so do delta pros but i might end up using it more often on guitar so I have no fucking clue. Speaker shopping sucks. SAVE ME

Delta Pro's my friend! I've had both (Nick has my old Big Ben, and I have Delta's right now), and the deltas are far superior if your going to be using them with bass. They have a fatter, flatter and cleaner (no coloration from the speaker unlike a big ben) over all tone, and since they are high wattage theres a much smaller chance of blowing them. I'm currently using 2 Delta 12LFA's in my gig rig for bass and love them, they don't have much high end but when paired with 12's on guitar its full and beefy.

this may be a really stupid question, but i'm pretty sure everyone would be able to answer it for me...

I have a Rocker 30 which has 1x12 V30 in it. If i get a Laney GH100 head, and basically unplug my Rocker 30 from its speaker and pplug the GH100 in...will that be too much wattage for the 1 speaker? assuming that while i have it plugged into that 1 speaker the master volume will be really...really low.

I think I know the guy who owns that amp funnily enough, he's in a band that plays like 3 doors away from my house.

I have a celestion sidewinder and a delta pro in my Marshall 2x15. I use it for guitar (tuned to B or A) and I love it so much more than my 4x12s. I back the delta pro as well.

never knew they were that dirt cheap in there.

in here i don't think i've ever seen one under 750. that's euros. super expensive when bought new, almost nobody can afford them.

Cabinets over here are usually really expensive when they need to be imported. They're so heavy and costly to import. The best thing to do is go for someone like Zilla Cabs, DCC, Matamp, Orange, and Marshall.

I saw it last weekend when I visited Mark down in Chattanooga, goddamn was it sexy just sitting there waiting to be built. I had to apply some pressure to get him to let it go but he rules so soon it will be mine!

Also got a Dwarfcraft Surrender Dorothy rehouse in the works, hopefully soon....

I've got a spot on my board for one of these for sure. Simple and tiny. How long until a stereo version comes out eh?

Got a spot reserved for one as well. When are they available in the States, end of March?

Nice one, Shannon. Your abilities of persuasion are quite excellent.

And yeah, end of March is the release date. I've seen a few Guitar Centers with a couple, but I anticipate they're all gone by now.

Some documentation in silver sharpie on the back. Those EL84s look TINY in there.

The controls are Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, Volume, HF Drive.

FIrst impressions are that the tone of this amp is right up my alley. No mid or low mid scoop, just a nice flat response that you can add to. Good warm, slightly dirty sound with the gain low, great high gain tone. Perfect mid frequency, sounds good maxed. Too much bass, kept it on noon or below but nice to know that there is a lot more on tap. HF Drive can get harsh but works really well to add in some sparkle when the volume is lower. 20 watts isn't much but for recording and playing in the house it's good. Mid gain pushed with an Elements sounded really good. Lowish gain with a Pharaoh it got really sludgy in a good way. Fun amp. Looks great too... I'm a sucker for that Matamp style plexi front panel and the handles.
