I just printed out a label I put on the front of my MC like the Fabrikat I knew what was what.whoismarykelly wrote:I struggled with the Molecular Disruptor because of the issue of remembering what programs were on the two eeproms I had and then what the parameters for those programs actually were because sometimes it wasn't obvious from playing and turning knobs. I ended up having a pedal that had a ton of sounds but only ever using one because I didn't reliably remember the other 7 programs well enough to switch to them on the fly. The Fabrikat ended up working way better for me because of the little legend panel on the front and the logical progression of programs in each bank. Also any given program would make cool sounds with the knobs in any position which wasn't necessarily the case with the Molecular Disruptor.

Bananana has teased a new version of Tararira that looks pretty interesting. Granted it's an arpegiator and not so much a glitcher I bet you can coax some wild sounds from it.

Re: Glitchipedia
So, I made a little demo for the first time in a while, ducking around with the Syntax Error that dowi gave me for ILFmas.

While I am occasionally frustrated by it, it can definitely produce some really cool sounds. The problem for me, as I foresaw just a few pages ago in this very thread, is the layout and restrictions that come with the limited amount of control. There are times when I want to dial in a specific sound, and it takes longer than it should, or I end up failing, laying down besides it in a fetal position while I cry. But a lot of that is my own fault, obviously. I'd love a more fully featured version of the stretch mode, but for what it is, this pedal is very handy.

Re: Glitchipedia
Yesterday I got this Bakfram in the mail box and so far am super impressed! Very intuitive and quick to use, I love the momentary hold on both footswtiches.
This pedal definetely does what I was missing on the CBA Mood: evoling textures. The ability to maximise the loop feedback via switch combined with the momentary hold (which works both ways on On or Off) is a game changer, this way I can freeze or replace the processed sounds, or kick in/out the effect/loop just for a lapse of time, like I would do with my might MASF Raptio.
Actually, the Bakfram may substitute the Raptio and the Bananana Mandala (or either one) in my ambient setup! I see lots of possible applications and sound mangling things I do with these 2 pedals, which could also be achieved with the Bakfram, and mcuh more!

Re: Glitchipedia
One month after getting the Bakfram, I've pulled the trigger on the Fabrikat. And I'm very glad I did!
First: Fabrikat can do a lot of things the Bakfram already does, but I still find the Bakfram super cool. It has its own caracter and being "bare bones" is also more quick and intuitive to use. So both units are kind of complementary to each other.
Back to the Fabrikat: after 2 days noodling with it, I was able to cover all the algorhythms and most its capabilities, and it's really a wonderful unit with a strong core-design underneath the hood!
It's the most complete granular/glitch pedal I've tried until now. All 16 algorhythms cover a lot of grounds and usefull features.
As somebody else already pointed out, it sounds very consistent, and has a very organic and warm feel. The EQ is very helpful to shape the final sound.
I love the interactivenss between Loop, Feedback and Infinity switch+toggle: it gives you a lot of control, and can really push the limits (especially with high levels of feedback and the infinity-toggle on the down/openloop position), resulting in some wonderful splatter/grind/harshnoise textures.
In some extent, few textures and sounds it's capable of remind me a lot MASF Raptio and Bananana Mandala, pedals which I also own and love a lot!
Also some functionalities are really close to those of the Revolver DX and CBA Mood, but Fabrikat (and Bakfram too) allows me to create these wonderful evolving textures, which then I can loop/freeze with the Infinity switch.
Also a wonderful feature I've understood while playing the pedal is that if you set the Loop knob to zero and turn the pedal on, it acts like the Mood: it's always listening to your sound, and the mangled loops are only played if you engage the Infinity switch!
It has only 1000ms of buffer time, which il compared to the Revolver and Mood, could be not that much, but for my needs this is more than enough!
My conclusion: Highly recommanded!

That's a great vid! Bravo. I had completely overlooked that pedal.gila_crisis wrote: Actually, the Bakfram may substitute the Raptio and the Bananana Mandala (or either one) in my ambient setup! -can you do a real freeze with it, meaning a real continuous sound and you don't hear the click at the beginning of the sample? (I cant tell from the vid if you're feeding the pedal with a continuous sound or if the pedal is doing it...)
-speaking of overlap, it seems to have a lot in common with the Outward, what would be the main difference?

Re: Glitchipedia
Thanks! Yes you can do seamlessly freeze with it. Just keep time full cw on freeze max, and a short clock (from 3'o clock to max, so that the buffer time is as short as possible, to have the best seamlessly freeze effect)Christophe wrote:That's a great vid! Re: Glitchipedia
Line6 released a new firmware update 3.00.0 for the HX Stomp and Helix Series, which include also these new effects:
- GLITCH Delay
-SHUFFLING Looper
- Poly Sustain
I gave them a try, and the first 2 can do some very cool glitches in the stile of Fabrikat, Moods, etc, with their own twists (like tap tempo sync, random shuffling and loop start position, amount of reverse and octave up/down glitches, to name few)!
Poly Sustain is a kind or EHX Freeze with variable fade in/out time and pitch modulation of the frozen sound/drone.

Might have to get an HX Stomp although the Line 6 effects in the M9 and such always had kind of a junior varsity kind of vibe to them. Never as enjoyable to play as my single pedal versions of things. The Polyphonic pitch shift included in the update is huge though.

There is a TKOG Mini Glitch V1.2 out now, and they have made the sound less audibly clicky for more ambient soft-glitch sounds. You can change it back to the original clicky version with an internal jumper. It’s a pretty decent update.

I love my HX STomp, it's such a powerful unit! I had back then an M9, I always love the sounds these Line6 effects.
In the Glitch Delay max delay time is 4 seconds.

everytime you talk about the HX Stomp i feel like i should try one, but then i also think that my already limited amount of playing time would disappear in creating incredible patches i'd never use.
