Sure, I get that. But this could be a chance for those affected by the failed kickstart to leverage the Devi name-brand recognition to their benefit. Salvage something. Fuck, ransom the name back at the very least. Maybe I'm putting too much value on the symbolic "fuck you" of owning her name.

I'm not a backer, so I should probably shut up.
But I'd much rather see the brand functioning in the hands of Louise and Ben than see it stagnating because of some sort of... fake sense of redemption
ps: Devi not honouring the contract and having the cat piss on it = reckless behaviour due to not having anything to lose

It doesn't have to be fake. There is brand recognition.

Wouldn't it make sense for the ILF community and/or the backers of the failed Console kickstart to pool their resources and buy the Devi brand from Dwarfcraft? Then do something with it that possibly benefits everyone or even make those that were burned whole again in a tableaux of poetic justice? There's enough talent and knowledge here to pull it off. Lemons to lemonade. A community endeavor also minimizes the risk. Shit could blow up. I'm always down to throw in a few ducats.
hahahaha....tableaux
its a funny word.
I think, in the grand scheme, a community brand is redundant. There's so many ILF brands and then there's
the brand, Fuzzhugger. There wouldn't be any real benefit to a(nother) ILF-forum brand.
Again and for the record:
If there is/was
a singular ILF brand, it's Devi Ever. Fuzzhugger got gifted the keys to the kingdom when DE decided to bail (this is a cyclical thing, you realize), but ILF was a thing, a self-sustaining thing separate from DE or any other singular builder, prior to the Fuzzhuger takeover -- which I watched as a lurker, in full disclosure.

Lately I seem to be the most vocal of the backers. I hate that. Speaking on my own behalf as I can't say how anyone else is doing, I don't mind hearing other's thoughts/ideas/feelings on it.
As things stand now, I'd much rather Dwarfcraft win it hard. They used to be a back burner brand for me. If I found something used cheap enough or got rich quick, then yeah I'd buy. Lately I'm thinking "Once I get stable, they're cool. Support legit people." I'm going to have to grab an Occam's Phaser for the same reason.
The whole Devi Returns thing has shown some people's true colors. And there's a whole, whole lot of stand-up folk here.

I bought a Dwarfcraft pedal directly because of the Devi thread and how shitty I felt about them having a bad time with the whole fiasco. It felt good. I recommend you do it if/when you have finances available.
On the other hand you also got sucked into the Console so you're at least as retarded as some of my good ILF friends (who are good friends but come on this shit was always destined to fail).
Definitely worth saying that I'm a little in the bag and not trying to be hostile.

In a historical sense you are absolutely correct. No one can really say otherwise.
History isn't really the only thing in play. If it were, people would only talk about Son House being the end-all blues guitarist. Or some other person before him.

Basically I've missed both ILFNEMs and I feel bad because I didn't crowdfund a way to get to either.

I was a late-mid career Devi joiner. I was around for the Bit Mangler being covered in Guitar World's new-hip-and under the radar segment. I witnessed her pedals pop up in Musician's Friend catalog. I remember the first Console crowd fund. And the Dubstep pedal. I remember when PGS Andy was demoing Devi pedals and making them sound like things I
needed. I remember the JHS and Billy scandals. I remember being excited that she was getting orders from Linkin Park and Schecter and Sony Music, thinking "she made it! You go girl, just killing it out there in the business" I believed in the small pedal builder and the American dream where if you hustle you can succeed in life no matter who/what you are.
Yeah, I should have seen the Console failure coming. She suppoosedly had other builders in line to make carts for it. It was exciting. I was going to be able to get my fix on the cheap. She was going make stuff other than fuzz. I was wrapped up in the hype. Completely. Seeing her cycle a couple times, its easy to see how bad of an investment it was. I had only seen mostly positive from her.
As far as hostility, I think you're calling it like it is. You aren't assaulting me, my character, my choices, my life.

I've been quiet because I've just come to terms that I'll never get the second 75% of my money owed back. It's quite clear that whether she starts making pedals or doesn't she's never going to pay us back.

Hell I'd buy the Devi brand myself just to piss Devi off.
Do I have the money right now? No. Could I get it? Well yea. I'm a fucking baller yo. A BALLER!
Also, I want apologize for my overreaction yesterday. As DOS stated, I was hungry. I get hangry. God damn it. Why does the internet know me so well???? hahaha

I know what you mean, but I don't think you know what I mean.
Do you think collective ownership of a brand would work? How would you split the royalties? How would you pay the builders or restocking parts? Who'd do the R&D? Who'd be responsible for PR, graphic designs... In the end, no one would see any real money, which means that no one would build because there would be nothing to build, nothing to build from and no one would do charity building for the good feeling
You just have to still think about the business side of things.
So - I mean that instead of collectively owning a band that wouldn't be able to function, I'd rather see the band still functioning under someone who makes it happen.

Crowdfunding a lawsuit is a much more interesting solution, however, it's been mentioned a couple of times that suing her would not really help anyone get any money

Im not really all that concerned with money as i am teaching her a lesson. She's deceitful, ignorant, haughty and narcissistic. I don't like these things and i don't like her constant abuse of this community. Whats even worse is i think she uses the transgender thing as a shield and that disgusts me. I think its time that her behavior be put on blast. The only people who really seem well informed on this are the people who post here. I think a real life lawsuit (shit maybe we could even get Corgan to throw down if someone could get ahold of him) would put a spotlight on her shadiness, scare away anyone thinking of helping her further fuck over the people she has agreements, and, ultimately, and to my personal satisfaction, run her out of the community for good.
