Part of me wants to trade my looper off for something else. I can't make myself use it in an interesting way.

I'm just worried I'll flip it for another effect and then suddenly come up with a great idea that involves looping.

which looper do you have?

maybe try using it to sample short phrases and then expand on that

for me, starting small is really helpful to thinking out of the box. think 'sound on sound' versus 'looping multiple guitars'

also consider putting your looper in front of all of your pedals and using it as a tone generator

I have a ditto x2. I play Bass vi and it's hard for me to avoid the "loop a low thing, loop a high thing, play a lead line" rut. It all starts to get so repetitive, which I guess is the nature of a looper.

I've had a couple cool ideas, but nothing substantial. I should try sampling shorter phases. Some of the songs on The King of Limbs have some really cool looping stuff, even though the stuff I play is pretty far removed from Radiohead. Its still inspiring though.

There are also some effects I want with the intention of looping them. I wouldn't use an organ toned pitch shifter by itself for the most part, but as another layer on a loop it would probably work pretty well. Same with stuff like ring mod or really extreme modulation.

it sounds like you're already using it pretty creatively

in a band context this can be tricky but to me it seems like if you're a vi player you have a lot of flexibility

I'm a sucker for half speed/reverse droning, with a vi I'm sure you can get pretty weird

Yeah--sorry about that--too much coffee and I was fixated on the sound when the knobs were being turned, which does sound (to me) like my Noise Ensemble. But the rest of the tones? I guess I'd want to hear another demo or so before I pretended to know what all was going on in there.

And as to the tone of the promotional literature, not sure I actually like that all too much. Lulz aside, seems a little condescending towards the intended users he identifies. idk, maybe I'm not meta enough. Maybe I need even moar coffee? Anyway, I'm sure I'd like to hear one of you dooderz take a whack at the thing.
