Ya, the Random Tone Generator. It's a one trick pony type of pedal, but in combination with other pedals it can be really neat.
With the CT5 just using mode two and recording 4-8 notes and changing the loop's pitch and length while still having the RTG output notes on top is seriuosly fun.

This is the most bad-ass use of the RTG I've ever heard of, dude! I should get one too just to try this with my Ct5.

Hi Scott,
is it technically possible (maybe in the firmware update) that the knob (dir 1) is still working when an expression pedal is used? That would be cool for "on the fly fiddling".
And it would be cool if a future version would have seperate wet and dry volume pots. You mentioned above that it's possible by recasing and installing two pots but i definatively don't have the skills to do that. I would just kill the pedal

HI Paul,
the DIR 1 knob works with expression pedal plugged in, unless the EXP switch is up, in which case the expression pedal replaces DIR 1. The knob for whatever EXP replaces stops working and priority is given to the expression pedal position, so long as an expression pedal is plugged in. i think an expression pedal is the best for on the fly but maybe i don;t quite get what you mean.
The next version will be more or less the same as this one, but with added q mode switch. There should be some announcement of the run by mid May.There is no significant hardware change for the next run, the Mix/Volume setup will remain the same for now.

Scott I just want to say you've packed an impressive amount of functionality in a very straightforward interface, and that's no mean feat.

Another feature that would be neat for a future version would be some kind of trails option, so when you turn it out the delay will finish its repeats - or if in loop mode the loop will fade.

I put a bigger knob with more ridges on the 'mix' control. That way I can fade in/out with my foot.

trails could be cool, but it won't be on the next run. most of the changes for the next batch are just in how it's made, so it can be done faster. i am waiting for the boards now, maybe they will be here by the end of this week or next. after that I will announce the next run.

Loving my ct5. Once the firmware allows the loop to be remembered between modes I will be in heaven.
