That's a shame...a slightly simplified biphase in probe form (with knobs controlling 1, the plate the other) would be

It looks like the invento was created with those sequenced pedals in mind, I'm sure somebody will whip one up eventually.

Yeah, apparently it's from years ago, probably before this even became ILF. :idk: I'll ban a Vexpostor, but otherwise, he's welcome around here for any discussion.

I think some of the comments in this thread warranted an explanation, and in his position, I may have signed up to respond. I don't doubt his motives for designing this thing (he is afterall--obviously--an effects enthusiast). The new pedal is the type of idea that'll be baffling to some and very inciting to others, which so far this thread has demonstrated.

Still, I wont believe it's actually Zack until I see a pic of him holding a sign that says ILF.

I for one kind of like it.
Some times I wish there were more knobs to play with.

Other times just an on off switch, every thing set up max is the way to go (read CC/DC).

Hey Zack welcome to the dark side..

and i did hear about all the hoopla behind this thing MONTHS ago and was really seriously expecting something ground breaking and original....

this is vex at his lowest, that's just damn lazy.... sort of like a really lame 80's movie sequel.... :picard:

Your cynicism is probably impenetrable but I can assure you I have no hatred for DIY-ers. On the contrary, I've created a development tool that lets them take their creations onto the stage and on tour. For many years I encouraged hundreds of DIY-ers on diystompboxes.com to start making their own pedals and marketing them. My belief is that the more pedals that exist, the more sounds that exist, the more interest there is in those sounds, and the market becomes bigger and stronger. How you can twist the idea of a device that helps people develop pedals into "vex at his lowest" and "clearly he got so mad at the peeps who like to build their own stuff" is way beyond my capacity to imagine. It really triggers my psychosis radar.

Take a look at this post:

http://acapella.harmony-central.com/sho ... tcount=526

YO Vex (i am assuming it's really YOU... still waiting on the pic of you holding up an ILF sign)... i am going to start by saying the fuzz factory opened my eyes to the boutique pedal world and building and i am humbled to know you responded to my post......

but i expected more from you.... for that very reason.... you're not opening up a whole new world of pedal building, it's been here the whole time.... musicians do not want to build their own shit, they want to play.... I WANT TO PLAY... i do think this idea of Lego Pedal Building is intriguing, but come on, this is lazy.... again, as mentioned many times before, Beavis has had a similar product for a while but with the intention of DESIGNING a pedal and then building A SOLID piece that can last through gigs and not overwhelm someone with a ton of knobs and options.... the best pedals that last and survive in this crazy pedal designing business are the ones that do SIMPLE WELL, like the fuzz factory, like the SHO, PROBES and your other builds.... so not knowing you personally but only through your work i find it quite odd that you've chosen to call this your next great achievement....

you can call it cynicism but you are a top builder and all eyes are on you, so to keep us all hanging in suspense with teases of next big thing and months of speculation from fans and followers, i call it a genuine criticism....

seriously, do better, get to work... we're waiting....

and welcome to ILF, stick around, you've earned it....

I'm at my best with this product. It's brilliant. I can (anyone can) use it to develop things faster and better than ever and test them in real-world situations immediately. It's not my job to please you, dude. I don't work for you. It's my job to please me and run my company the same way I always have, with a minimum of 20% growth per year, non-stop for 15 years. There's nothing I can do to open your short-sighted eyes, so I'm not interested in engaging you in any kind of argument. There's nothing about your position that's defensible. You just don't have any imagination. I can't do anything about that.

As far as "proving" I'm Zachary Vex, check here:

Rock on! Off to day 2 of NAMM. People are going nuts over Inventobox... that's very uplifting.

ZACK!!! it really is you.... welcome..... of course, by your last reply above i would have known it was you instantly.... good to have you in the mix and glad to see you are just as confident and ego-maniacal as always....

argument?? nah.... opinion.... sure..... short-sighted..... NOPE, watching you like a hawk, understand i am complaining because I just wanted you to do more...... so do most of your other fans, WHO YOU DO WORK FOR BECAUSE YOU WANT OUR MONEY.... but i'm not eating your current offering of soylent green because I know what it's made of....

you didn't invent this pedal for musicians, you invented it for us folks who want to know what you are all about, so sure, you want to share your brilliance in a way that us tinkering musicians can sit indian style and build a nice little fort of fuzz.... i'm sure you have a lot of modules planned for this thing and i'm still waiting to see what you've got hidden in your other pocket....

but until i see Nels Kline or Kevin Shields or J. Mascius buying this thing and designing their own limited edition fuzz tones, i'm not sold...

FYI, when you are rolling your foreskin alone in your bathroom, that's when you work for yourself, but when you build pedals for mainstream consumption, you work for us dude, and as a fan i can also be a critic, don't take it as hostile, it's just an opinion....

i love this by the way, your legend lives on....
