Yep. I waited over a year until one finally popped up for what I was willing to pay ($210). I lucked out in that it was a brand spankin' new pedal, it had sat in a box for 3 years after a 10 minute trial run apparently.

:joy: :omg: :joy:

I do think his stuff is worth the price new, but I'm not often willing to spend that kind of cash. I was a good little capitalist before a year's worth of layoff and subsequent 50% salary cut set me on my current economic path, which is pretty much akin to the following album title these days:

Besides, the current used market is far too accommodating to cheap bastards such as myself. Of course, every deal I find pretty much becomes null and void when I have to sell something. Alas!

I am one of those folks who leaves it on most of the time as a very so slight boost/eq thingy. The SHO doesn't have a volume knob (the 2-in1 does), so there's no way to turn the gain up and keep the level down. And it gets really loud. I have a feeling the 2-in-1 would be a better OD because of the volume control, but I am really happy with the SHO.

Yeah my SHO is fucking loud. It's a great booster, has plenty of output to overdrive the cleanest amp.

I like pedals that do unusual things (i.e. FSU), so the Ringtone and Fuzz Factory have secured a permanent place in my setup. Placing a gated fuzz after the ringtone makes the carrier frequency loud enough to pass as a sequenced synth square wave.

My latest Zvex purchase is the Inventobox, which is ideal for me, seeing as I want to mess about with effects "design", but can't be bothered to fire up a soldering iron or put together an enclosure with knobs and IOs. I had been thinking about the Beavis Board, but I needed something with more knobs, and I need a box that could be closed up to avoid picking up RFI from one of Montreal's most dreadful radio stations (CKOI - the great invader of audio signal chains).

What would be interesting to build would be a LoFi Loop Junky with a sequencer controlling the pitch instead of an LFO.

It seems the more pedals I get, the less I need actual synths to make the sounds I have always wanted to make.
ILF gear: Devi Ever - OK, LP, 33, Noise Floor, Electric Brown/US twin, Dark Boost, Destructo Noctavia, Dream Mangler, Bit Mangler. Effector 13 (by OohLaLa) - Synth Mangler, Torn's Peaker and Truly Beautiful Disaster. Dwarfcraft Devices - Thumping Double Squaresnakes and Rot Yr Brain. Malekko - Vibrato, Ekko 616. Mid-Fi Electronics - Singing Spoon, Pitch Pirate, and Clari(not). Earthquaker Devices - Disaster Transport, Hoof, Bit Commander, Sea Machine. Fuzzhugger Phantom Octave, AB Synth.

This^, the SHO, and W. Mammoth are the only ones that have my interest. Built a sho, haven't finished the mammoth, and the lofi I will wait & wait for as nad did the ringtone.

I still really want a wah probe...I dig the filtery colorsound vibe it has going.
I might have to start saving for one if I don't win the tonefactor contest

Can't be TOO hard to build, can it?

I too am a noob around these parts (and really any gear forum) but I don't get the 'Vex haet either? Politics, etc aside, having the opportunity to have tried most of their pedal range and I fail to find a fault with Vex. I'll definitely stay out of any shit storms that'll brew from opening up old closets...

Personally I have a modified Fuzz Factory and a BoR. I've got a love/hate relationship with a Fuzz Factory. But it does SO MUCH that I don't see it ever leaving my board and the BoR is just "the" pedal as many have mentioned that has to stay on and just balances everything and brings it to a good register (SHO side).

I only see myself getting two more Vex pedals and they are the Wooly Mammoth and Ringtone. I wouldn't MIND a Lo Fi, Tremorama and pink 2-in-1 to replace my BoR (I use the BoR mainly for SHO anyway).
