How would that work? If you wanted the signal to be clean, with fuzzy delays underneath.

I don't think they'll get much slimmer than the m9 without cannibalizing the xx-4 series.
You're not really paying for the models, you're paying for processing power and the hardware.
Even if they slimmed it down they'd probably still charge $350 or something, may as well get the other stuff packed in.

mine will be here tomorrow
i think it's gonna be AWESOME.....and while it will NOT replace my dirt pedals......it may very well do all my modulations/delays/verbs/etc.
i wasn't s huge fan of the m13, but i think line 6 has got a real WINNER with the M9 -- size is good, it's got 85% of the m13 crammed in there, and everyone knows how good the looper part is, PLUS they doubled the loop memory.
TOTAL FREAKING WIN all the way around!

NW you've pretty much sold me on it.
i also hate the DL-4
and like everything line 6 has ever made, but this seems like the thing to go for...

At the moment it is just delays and reverbs, meant to be the tailpiece to the rest of my rig, but its set up like this--the first row has 2 delays, 1 being the panning "sweep" delay, the second being the "auto-volume" or swell delay. Then the 2nd row is deep, long echo reverb and octo reverb, and the 3rd is 2 modes of the particle reverb I was talking about--the more subtle one and the middle one. The particle verb modes are called "stable, critical, and hazard" if that gives you any idea of what they were going for. so basically I can stack a trippy delay into a trippy reverb into another REALLY trippy reverb.
Now that I think about it though I will probably program another scene tonight with reverse and binson delays, the barbershop pole phaser and some kind of filter, and the "hazard" mode of particle reverb for something a little more intense.
but... picture this. The way I was using that second scene last night was running my rig in stereo with my Algal Bloom & RE-201 running into the M9, the panning sweep delay, and then octo reverb stacked into the "stable" particle verb..........and an e-bow.
spacial ambient heaven. seriously.

i believe it. so the "chaining" on the M9 is pretty good? it seems like you are doing something similar that i want to do w/ reverb & multiple delays, which is why i have been creaming for a Cathedral so bad, except you are doing it w/ the M9.
props !!!

what about from a str8-up functional stand-point. does it fair well. i know most people don't have open minds & are not to KEEN on experimentation.

Well, you've got me there, I'm not really sure. I'm not saying this thing is the end-all-be-all, and it certainly can't do absolutely EVERYTHING you could imagine. But it can do a lot.
I love delays with FX loops too so I'd never tell you to scrap your plans for the memory boy or anything. That thing looks wicked.
Actually, its not a terribly bad comparison to make... EHX is coming to the table with a whole lot of great new stuff right now--you could say the same for Line 6 for sure. Difference being EHX has always been awesome and Line 6 has always pretty much sucked ass. But, much to my surprise, they no longer suck so much ass. In fact, they have moved into the realm of kicking it.

I could sell my digidelay instead! The bigger memory boy might be costly though. I'll still need a delay for when I can't bring the M9(jamming I try to fit everything in my guitar bag, so a couple of fuzzes and a delay).

Does this lil monster have an effects loop?

Nope, but the m13 does. You can even put the loop anywhere in your m13 chain (before, after, in the middle of etc.)

I'm curious as to if you can manipulate your loops using the effects. So take the loop and run it through a pitch shifter or ringmod or whatever.

I notice it has two(stereo) inputs. Would it be possible to have the clean signal go into one, and the dirty into another? Then have it 100% dry on the left channel, and 100% wet panned hard on the right, then run it in mono output?

I'll wait and see how you feel about it in 6 months after the novelty has worn off.

In the M13 you can, in looping mode theres a footswich to have the effects pre or post loop.
