I've gone back and dialed in my Shallow Water to be more chorus-y, and I'm thinking that's as close as I'll get to having a dedicated chorus on my board.

I’m in this same boat after flipping yet another chorus. Contrary to OP, I definitely want that super thick 80’s detune and Cave In tones. Should I try a PS-3 again? Does a Pitchfork do detune better?

I wanted cheesy 80s chorus and was looking for a MXR micro chorus but they don't turn up that often in Sweden. So I've been using the Fairfield Shallow Water as a chorus and it is super cool. Being able to dial in the randomness and the sharpness of the slope enables you to get pretty standard chorus sounds or stuff that while I wouldn't say sounds "out there" is kinda hard to place. It's like a nice chorus but then you're like "hmm... but this doesn't sound like normal chorus". I like it.

gentle reminder that it's okay to hate chorus and you don't have to force yourself to like something you don't.

I hate chorus for the most part too. Probably the only one that I've got a secret love for is the Small Clone, but it sorta doesn't sound like any other chorus. Also the Retro-Sonic Chorus and Caroline Somersault have made me happier than expected.

Haha, thanks! I’ve certainly accepted that with flanger, so I think it might be the case with most chorus too!

Maybe a vibe would be more your style? It's more like a phaser than a true chorus but imo they sound rad as hell. :!!!:

I ended up buying an Adventure Audio Lunge. We’ll see how this goes.
