I'm thinking maybe of capping this at 16 people.
Well yeah because we'd all have to add 16 tracks, no?Heraclitus Akimbo wrote:I'm thinking maybe of capping this at 16 people.
I don't think we have to add that many, just have the option to add that manyshikawkee wrote:Well yeah because we'd all have to add 16 tracks, no?Heraclitus Akimbo wrote:I'm thinking maybe of capping this at 16 people.
Yeah, cool. I mean, I record every day so I can add tracks but it could quickly get out of hand and never end, ya' know?MrNovember wrote:I don't think we have to add that many, just have the option to add that manyshikawkee wrote:Well yeah because we'd all have to add 16 tracks, no?Heraclitus Akimbo wrote:I'm thinking maybe of capping this at 16 people.

We are 15 now!
I have a busy l'il stretch of work the next few days, but Tuesday or so I'll have some ideas to put out there for this.
Ideally there should be enough source material that people can use/do what they wish with it (or not) and make the creative decisions on their own. Personally I would like to have access to everything but I'm open to whatever the collective wishes. Either way it would be cool in the end to see where it goes and what people do.Heraclitus Akimbo wrote:Finally had some time to start making some sounds. Yay!
Question for participants: we're gonna have a fair bunch of source material. When we get to the mix/assemble phase, what do people think would be more fun? Should it just be an open library and you can fiddle with other people's sounds as you see fit? Ot would it make sense that some submissions get "assigned" exclusively to other people? (And should that be through a random draw? Something else?)
In my mind it would have originally worked like that: some of the submissions are given to specific people for their use only, some would be available to all. But I'm very open to other opinions here.

Not a bad idea.MrNovember wrote:Heraclitus Akimbo wrote: One thing I've noticed is that a lot of the submissions already have a lot going on. It might be nice to "assign" the more "complete" submissions and leave some of the more "simple" submissions as open use. However, this is all incredibly subjective (hence all the " " ) and I wouldn't want anyone to take offense to what might be considered "complete" or "simple"
