Two things: The last unbearable goon at a gig I went to was wearing a Foo Fighters coat, and musicians being stupid shouldn't derail their musical output.

Which is to say I'm basically onboard with them for the first 1.5 records but I haven't listened to them in a real long time.

I agree with the cringe, but I think he is just the king of dad rock. Like, the old guy who was a punker and then made it mainstream. Shit old man dumbass political opinions and thinking the glory days of the scene were back in his day.

I think it's more his over-enthusiasm for everything and how he's basically elbowing his way into music history as if he's somehow on level with these legends he's interviewing and forcing to record songs with him.

Everyone around him just has to grin and bear it because of his success.

And his corny formulaic lyrics.. at least from what he wrote for his sonic highways HBO "album".
