The non-acoustic Everlong was literally the only FF song I could listen to until I watched grohl's HBO series. I can't pin it down, but there's just something very cringey about that guy.

I think it's more his over-enthusiasm for everything and how he's basically elbowing his way into music history as if he's somehow on level with these legends he's interviewing and forcing to record songs with him.

Everyone around him just has to grin and bear it because of his success.

And his corny formulaic lyrics.. at least from what he wrote for his sonic highways HBO "album".
