I've only been able to listen to A Crow Looked at Me once. I can't bring myself to play it again. It's such a good record but damn is it devastating.

Skeleton Tree is in a very similar world for me. Both written under extraordinarily tragic situations and amount to very harrowing/touching records. Definitely not slowcore but as sad as it gets:

LOL.

In other news I did just buy plane tickets and tickets to the Mount Eerie show in SF in February. I figure since Elverum's wife passed away and he's left raising a little one he might not be able to tour much in the future so I want to make sure I see him while I can.

I got an advance of the new Hovvdy album, "Cranberry." Very good guys, you'll dig it, lots of hints of Sebadoh/Bedhead/a little bit Phil Elverum at times, here's the single off of it:

Don't think this dude is necessarily actually really slowcore, but it is pretty nice:

Anyone have some suggestions for some slowcore-esque stuff that is more lazy and doleful sounding than it is dark and depressed? Looking for stuff along the lines of like, Bedhead's Whatfunlifewas era, or maybe Galaxie 500 but lazier. Been really into Sebadoh's III record right now, for reference.
