Yeah I understand the mid cut sounds cool when playing in your bedroom but with a band I feel like you need to add extra to cut through the mix. I prefer my fuzzes with no tone control(usually I can get plenty of variation with my guitar tone control and pickup selectors) and mid boost in front.
Jordan bosstone clone would get you close by itself, it can do some cool octave up stuff with the right parts.
