I would often do the same, but with an OD250 instead of the Fuck.

Bit Commander was the shit when I had one. Really the only EQD thing I've missed.
Other than that, Soda Meiser all the way. Preferably a clone of one since the original Devi units are spottyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

I wouldn't call it much of one, there's a HINT at max settings, but it isn't a Blender or Octavia, that's for sure.

My MXR Blue Box on the other hand, is not picky at all about chain placement.
How strange.... I've had the exact opposite experience. I have a regular Blue box, and when placed later in the chain, there's a phenomenal volume drop, making it impossible to use!
Concerning the initial post of this thread, there are so many different categories of octave fuzz... it depends on what you're looking for.You have synth-like octave fuzz (Blue box, Seppuku, pedals that sound close to an ehx micro synth for instance...), you have great lead tone octave fuzz (octavia, foxx tone, check out David Rolo's Giant hogweed, it sounds amazing), or more aggressive pedals like Lal. And all shades in between. All these categories are totally different, they all serve different purposes. If you're looking for a cutting, aggressive octave fuzz and you buy a Blue box, you're in for a disappointment...

I tend to think of octave fuzz meaning octave up.
I think suboctave for stuff like the blue box.
Also I can't believe nobody has mentioned the second voice. Probably my favorite synth/octave/suboctave fuzz. I think it's more like a PLL. Actually, the data corrupter sounds like the SV a bit to me.
Also people keep talking about the Percolator having a suboctave but I don't hear it at all in the one I've been using.

anyone got 2 cents on trying beetronics octahive? the whole lets focus on enclosure art has skewed my perception.

well I ordered the stuff to make a Germanium Percolator and another Green ringer, plus an order switching stomp switch for the whole enclosure. Should be fun.

Still on a honeymoon with my Basic Audio Kay. It's incredible.
