I don't think I've ever heard a warm chorus. Inherently chilly!

I like to keep at least one mod pedal on my board for some extra movement when the moment strikes..At the moment I get most of my modulation from pithshifters, modulated delays and reverbs, and tremolo from a boss pn2.
Some of my other favorites are an analogman modded small stone that had lived on my board for a loooong time, an old big box polychorus, good old boss bf2 (probably headed back to the board), and goatkeeper for dicking around at home. I have a pedal for just about every flavor of modulation on my shelf because I am a whore, but those are the standouts.

Chorus mode in EHX PolyFlange/Chorus, EchoFlanger are all dark and velvety. Clone Theory to lesser extent [simpler/better designed circuit tho] Small Clone, too.
Effectrode's Tube Chorus [2 knob pink] seems like it also has a warm sound...while not being as dark as the old EHXs.
Maxon CS-550 is something else to consider, but what I didn't like about it is how easily you can clip the circuit when running it dripping wet with the tiny M-LEVEL knob set up high.
Cosmichorus v3 could also be clipped if you tried but it wasn't anywhere as sensitive as the Maxon.

I generally do not like chorus with fuzz unless guitar vol knob is somewhat rolled back :hobbes:

edit: come to think of it, I prefer having tone knob rolled back, too. Reminder to manipulate your knob

I don't know why it always seems like a sort of icy effect to me, but I do get the lushness factor—I think my problem is that so much chorus just sounds instantly 80s. It's a sound I love, but not necessarily a decade I frequently (though admittedly sometimes) wanna transport my sound to. The Small Clone is probably my fave, just because it doesn't really even sound like a typical chorus, more just like its own thing. I also really loved the WVMKII because it didn't sound like a typical chorus to me, either—I couldn't justify keeping it because I only really used one setting (that gorgeous kind of 12 string sheen you can get) and the rest seemed wasted on me. Never sounded thin, though!

Love chorus with fuzz or OD because Pete Steele. Flange plus fuzz is magic. Always loved flange.
Fuzzed out envelope filter is great for a combo of 70's groove and Cliff Burton wah sounds. Combine all these with heavy delay for song transitions or solos.
I recently got a Phase 95. I don't love it like I thought I would. I'm gonna give phase another shot when Dunwich releases his phaser.
I love ring mod too. Gonna eventually get a stompbox one that's more board friendly than my MF-102. Maybe that EHX Blurst thing

Yes. Gainy chorus goth sounds are good. Also Husker Dü did it awesomely, plenty of times. I need to be reminded that EVH didn't completely ruin that combo.

I finally pulled the trigger on a Gristleizer board, so I am going to build that bad boy up soon and take it for a spin. I really dig that effect and it has a ton of volume to drive your amp too, what fun.
