The dvd/bluray release will make it better for those who didn't dig it as much as it has deleted content that was crucial to the fucking storyline on it. Don't know why the fuck they did that. However, knowing it's one of 6 movies, I think it's fucking great.
The Void IMO was 10/10. It was amazing. Reminded me of Hellraiser in ways and a bunch of other fucked up shit.
John Wick 2 was super disappointing. I found it slow and boring when compared to the first. I'd only give that a 5/10 for it having some killer death scenes. The story overall was fucking dumb as hell though.
Logan was fucking amazing. That's easily a 9/10 or a 10/10. There are a few minor things they could have done better but overall, I think it was the most solid X-Man based movie that has been made.
Get Out was fucking HILARIOUS. I'm sorry but that movie is awesome. I am buying it once it goes on sale (like actually on a sale not for sale lol). 8/10
Lego Batman was the shit. I dunno how you all feel about it, but I loved it and the kids loved it. Easily a 9/10.
You're not a big critic, are you jwar
I wanted Logan to be 9/10, or even a strong 8/10, but from the Logan thread:
vidret wrote:Ok so I think it took a couple of steps in the wrong direction here, that kept it from being a solid 8/10 for me;
spoilers:
* once we were introduced to the other wolverine everyone pretty much knew the adamantium bullet was gonna get him.
The fact that logan himself didn't use it on the other wolverine is dumb. The fact that logan didn't absolutely tear the new wolverine apart when he was pierced and half-dead was also dumb, and I'm tired of seeing movies with shit like that.
He could've gone over to him and done him in, would've taken less than 30 seconds and then there'd only be footsoldiers.
* Same goes for the head-scientist guy, he was standing right there. fucking kill him when you've got the chance.
* How does a kid that's being held/raised in a secret facility, being trained to be used as a weapon end up overweight? It could be that his dad was.. super-chunk x-men, i dunno. It's not that I mind a fat kid, but how the hell is that possible? It's not. He's like the token fat AND black kid.
* why didn't wolverine kill the robot-arm-bro in the beginning instead of just kicking his head? There's so much killing in this movie but they don't do it right, still. it annoys the fuck outta me. It was painfully obvious.
Would've enjoyed it if they built him up and then showed "meh, he can be killed" and killed the guy off in 30 mins, instead of having him survive, somehow, everytime (blonde bro).
* the kids could've been older, please. everything with kid actors is painful, usually. Kind of brought the last part down. The main kid was good tho.
Would've been better if it were them to the end, and as he died the kid joined the other kids, or something.
and the void is surely AWESOME, but it's not a 10/10. Very hellraiser-y, definitely. And I'm surprised you didn't enjoy john wick, I thought for sure that'd be up your alley.
How come covenant is a 9/10 for you? I'm curious, because I couldn't get over quite a few things, and I really wanted it to be awesome (I really liked prometheus too)
My response disappeared??? WTF. lol

Looks promising. It definitely has that signature Coen look to it.

You meant Get Out?? If you do, your expectations were probably too high. That movie is fucking hilarious!

Rented GiTS, watched a few sequences that I remember and turned it off.
I didn't hate it when I saw it in the Cinema and was pretty damn lenient. But it just seems like its one of those films that you watch at 2am when you can't sleep or come back home after a few drinks. Kind of bland but pretty.
I don't get why they didn't release the proper Soundtrack, it's probably the best thing about it.

Apes, man! In a sea of mostly garbage reboots and disposable nostalgia porn, I feel like Planet of the Apes has been one of the few that makes it work. War was possibly the best of the new ones. Felt like there was a lot of homage/ripoff (whichever you prefer) to other war movies and stuff, but so was almost every shot in Star Wars or Kill Bill and those didn't suffer from it. There's a bit of silly comic relief, but it was pretty appropriate considering how dismal a film it would have been without it. Super intense. I haven't been that excited about Apes since the original.

Ahhh! Ghost in the Shell. I mean, what did you guys expect? LOL! The original is pretty much perfect, so, yea. The 95 version that is.
Scarlett Johansson is terrible IMO as well.
Other than being the Black Widow, what the fuck has she been in that was ever worth watching? I seriously think she's terrible. Can't act her way out of a fucking box. LOL

Lost In Translation? The previously mentioned Under The Skin, Girl With A Pearl Earring, Her? Home Alone 3?! She's been in quite a few decent films now, nothing really amazing but I don't think it's fair to say she's a bad actress.

Let me guess, you guys who think Scarlett Johansson is not a bad actress also think that Keanu Reeves is not bad either?
How about Mark Wahlberg, Paul Walker and Megan Fox?
