I have never tried a pedal that predates the year 1970.

My pedal ownership journey has literally been all over the map, but I, like a few other posters, still haven't tried the majority of the trendy ILF brands ... and was also not without a Devi Ever back in the HCFX golden days (LOL-the memories).

Never have I ever played through a Strymon, DBA, Chase Bliss, Dwarfcraft, Eventide, Empress, ZVex, Analogman, Montreal Assembly, SS/BS, Dr. Scientist or Mr. Black.

Not to say I wouldn't try them, but never have I ever paid more than $120 for a pedal. Although I almost got an RM-1N a few months ago. I picked up a BitRanger instead and a Tesseract Reverb PCB from Madbean.

It's funny because I avoid pedals that cost less than 150 for some reason. I have some very odd issues in my brain...

I should add that some of those companies I would definitely support if I had the money but I work full time as a letterpress printer and bookbinder so I don't usually have a lot of disposable income for noise making devices. My last gift to myself after finishing a big commission was to finally buy a decent guitar.

I also have this quirk where whenever I see something I want, my first thought is usually "How can I make that?" not "Can I afford that?"

I've definitely spent more than $120 on synths though (but not more than $350).

You should build a cheapies board. Could be fun?

jwar would present to us his enormous board with 2-pedals on it and an admission of defeat...

"couldn't do it, guys."

he'd then go on to start a new thread about his boner-sized board -- biggest jwar board confirmed.
