Borrowed a GoPro camera (small, durable, high-impact cameras for extreme sports--also good for musicing) and plan to record some stuff tonight for drums.

After wasting the day watching videos, I'm torn on how to film it. The head/body mount stuff is rad for POV, but can be shaky. Better to do stationary filming or wear it?

If you plan on doing any backflips off the drum stool, wear it on your head. :D

That should sound fantastic. I'm curious about how the hold function will respond to drums.

Body mount the pedal, GoPro on a cymbal.

Try several shots with GoPro.

Mount on head (neck is a steady-cam) and then try mounting it on drumstick (epileptic seizures are a form of "special effect").

(do not watch this in a dark room if you are prone to epilepsy (I'm completely serious))

Some art films you either like or not. Paul Sharits tended to go for more of an assaultive approach.
In watching it becomes impossible not to have a physiological reaction.

Is there something like an old Roland electric drum kit that could be used as a trigger to engage these effects?

More smack and less stomp could be cool (but these are already pretty cool).
