Although he did concede that Replacements were potentially better *in the context of* being the best American rock band of the 1980s. HE PROBABLY RECANTS THIS

Yeah I can agree with that. I mean... two sides of the same coin for me. One was certainly a little more high-key about the inclusion of politics in their music. The Mats take the approach where they only explore politics through the characters in the songs
