In fact I'm very interested in the math of waves (Fourier analysis) after so much tweaking - my fantasy is to craft something like oneohtrix point never's Replica (hence the ju-06) or Vangelis's blade runner (again, said it was a fantasy) - but ultimately I think synths are helping me understand sound/music
Maybe you should put off getting another synth, til you've explored the depth of the plethora you already have? We all gas, but sometimes gas gets in the way of truly getting to know your gear.
I agree 100% ... until I see something I like :)

Hence the gas part ;)

But once you really understand the fundamentals of synthesis knowledge is easily transferrable

Yeah but each synthesizer is different and they do common functions differently too, so figuring out the strengths and weaknesses, the sweet spots, etc of a synthesizer takes time.

Dang Mang, I love it here!

This is the only music forum I know where you can actually be honest and say what you feel or think, even if you feel or think something blows turds.
Plus you can make all kinds of dumb yet sort of smart jokes with stupid references in some (dis)associative way.
In my experience this usually really elevates the spirit.
Sorry that in this case that wasn't what happened.

I'm too stubborn to block anyone on any forum, never will, don't feel the need to.
Also too lazy and too much of an idiot to be dishonest, that shit takes brainpower dudes, I need what I have to do other stuff like breathing and such.
echorec, please chillax and stick around man, you seem like a good gearhead.

I'll show myself out of this topic since I have nothing useful to add for now.

Glad you guys are talking about synths again!

 (this is an all inclusive deal - echorec included)

**** I still think we need an upside down Picard to express what happened though ****
