Has anybody ever played this one? Unfortunately the buttery Mike Hermans-shredded video is the best one I could find, but you can still hear some of the cool, rippy sounds and nice octave/ring-moddy overtones. I really know jack shit about Bearfoot—they seem to be a pretty popular brand, but not much talk on here (Not weird enough? Not-so-secret conservative Christian agendas?

). Anyway, curious.

Actually just realized I could get really close to that with an Algal.

This is from an ILF builder. The Seer riff starts at about 3:00 minutes. More velcro than female on female tribadism.

And Function (fx) just teased a smaller version of the Clusterfuzz on IG....

This can be said about many, many fuzz tones.

I dunno, though—I pulled out the Algal and it definitely does a fucked up/fun/starved tone, but doesn't have the same sound as that Candiru. I don't think I'll be pulling the trigger on one anytime soon, but I sure would love to check one out.

Sorry if I was unclear - I meant that the algal is versatile. You can cop a good many fuzz tones with it.
FWIW I quite like the tone of that candiru thing. I think they are overpriced, and I don't dig Björn Juhls whole aesthetic - even less when it is some random dude at another company doing his best to cop it*. But yeah. Cool tones for sure.
*am aware of the fact they are building Björn's circuits, painting their enclosures etc with his blessing.

Yeah tbh I've always stayed away due to aesthetics as well—I think they look like party favors designed by a kindergarten teacher.
And agreed on the cost, but they do seem to come up used for good prices, so I'll be keeping my eye out.

Some others to consider:
Basic Audio Zippy
Basic Audio Bye-Bias
Basic Audio Spooky Tooth
Magnetic Effects White Atom
As previously mentioned, the Fuzz Factory will get into this territory, and the Bearfoot Candiru is really good at this sort of thing.
