liking the look of mixer mode aswell

this should be great guessing you have to use the midi in to do this which could be annoying but hey not that bad, for the ease of programming and stuff

Midi in/out, but the USB cables for it are cheap enough.

I have a set anyway for a couple rack devices, I can just move it over to set up patches.

We'll see when it goes live.

(and ironically, I'm more interested in the DD-500 editor they're doing as well finally!)

holy shit, software editor looks amazing. I just scored a used one for $400 and my mind is going nuts thinking about all the things I'll be able to do. I have a couple chase bliss pedals, so preset control first of all. Then the option to assign any button to any function and customize led's. Plus the fact that you can assign expression control output to be restricted to a certain range. This in a sense can give you "presets" on pedals with expression control like ring modulators. I like that idea that I can jam out, mess around with pedal order and expression control, and then save it all as a preset to come back to whenever I want.

Looks like they implemented the one feature I was disappointed the ES-8 didnt have: sending different effects to separate amps instead of summing them and resplitting. This is gonna be sweet.

The firmware updates alright, but the editor...is having issues.

Two of us on the FB group just can't get it to fly, and nobody outside of Roland is reporting success.

just ordered a roland um one usb- midi cable as some of the issues look like they might be caused by the midi cables people are using.

looking forward to doing the update ive had a little play with the software and it looks really cool lots of options to dive into and try out!

It's insane that they didn't test it with any other interfaces.

It's a MIDI device, not a "requires weird proprietary thing."

I got it half-assed working on the editor, but I had to cycle through six different MIDI devices to get it to talk through the editor and found one in my closet I hadn't used in years.

Any of these units work with my other Boss/Roland products as well as other brands.

Hey guys! Re-DD500 Editor.

What can I unzip the goddamn file with? Apparently Windows 10 is a bitch and wants me to pay for a unzipping program (I cannot fucking believe that in this day and age). Any suggestions?

Got it installed!

Kind of sucks that I'll have to have my PC connected to to pedal to edit it, but fuck me this will be so much easier now!

Thanks guys! I had no idea there was a PC editor until I read this thread!
