1. Get the last remaining pedals on my wishlist that can actually fit on my board. (Metasonix F2, Pretty Years, Industrialectric 4046-m, TWA Great Divide)
2. Sell Sovtek MIG50 + MIG100 + the random cab that came with the mig100, buy a really nice pedal platform amp. Possibly a Port City Pearl. Maybe a Wampler Bravado depending on what the reviews are like. If any Hiwatts sell for cheap enough maybe that.

My main gear goal, however, is to actually use my gear more. Being underutilized due to pedalboard not being put together yet. In the process now, but currently wrestling with space issues and trying to do pedal tetris to make everything I have and everything on my wishlist fit (already had to cross a few things off).

Once that's done: ima try to keep busy recording + writing + demoing stuff + practicing. Hopefully. I'm not a very productive person.

I went through this earlier this year. Bought a switcher, which was pretty rad, but figuring out the cable situation was an enormous pain in the ass, and once I got it set up I had horrible anxiety thinking about the even bigger PITA of troubleshooting in case of cable failure. Ultimately sold the switcher.

I'd still like to figure out something a lot simpler, like a loop setup that'd allow me to have conveniently accessible clean and dirty sounds without all the tap dancing.
I think my issue ends up being I need like 4 sounds for my band and a huge board for my solo stuff, I just want the options around always

Yeah, I like having one big board for all the sounds, plus it's pretty great having a second one that's super stripped down, just the bare necessities. But... for the big option, it really sucks if you have to turn a bunch of stuff off and a bunch of other stuff on in one fell swoop, then make that extra shitty if you're singing. I basically wanna have all the stuff and a couple of handy presets to make life a little easier without a million cables.

Take all of this with a grain of salt, cause I'm not an amp expert - far from it. I'm just a guy who has owned one and nothing else, and has barely played through anything else apart from a JCM800, a JCM900, and a VOX (AC30 I think).

The MIG50 is essentially a Bassman with a solid state rectifier, apparently. Nice cleans + really nice pedal platform. The MIG100 is a JCM800 clone. Really nice high gain sound but not so good on the cleans and doesn't agree with most of my pedals.

Had mine for about a decade. The MIG50 will do just fine in the meantime while I search for a new amp. However it occurred to me that if anything, they're the bottleneck in my rig. Got a nice gat, and lots of nice pedals - but they're going through a very modest amp.

Anyway, I'd recommend the MIG50. Packs a lot of bang for your buck. MIG100 on the other hand varies a lot between amps. There's good ones and not-so-good ones. So if you're looking for a JCM800 type amp, it might work out well, but probably wouldn't suit a blind purchase.

Electro-Harmonix just reissued the MIG50. Selling for $575 new. There's been a couple 15% off sales on reverb stores, and one is on at the moment here: https://reverb.com/item/3642242-electro ... uitar-head

If you're looking for a good pedal amp in that price-range, maybe consider getting one. I'm in New Zealand, so you probably don't want to buy mine :P

Yeah Mig 100 is a cool head for sure. Nice Marshall on a budget -- except that they're approaching the price point of used Marshalls now and they're decidedly less reliable in the QC department. Loved my 100H though.

Gotta get my live rig down to a fine art. Need a new laptop and probably and probably an Elektron Analog 4 to get that right where I want it.
Gonna take the dive into Eventide H9 land too. I can use it for fucking everything, guitar or studio, so I reckon it'd be a good investment.

That's a lotta money tied up in 3 bits of gear, but it'll be worth it.

Less fun stuff, and more utility gear. I need a proper power supply, and I reaaally need recording gear..currently everything is "jotted down" with my phone.

Also, I'm changing jobs (more time, set schedule) and would love to form a band or just start doing open mics or something.

Not sure what I want really, some of it's dependent on whether or not the thing comes out this year and isn't a pile of trash.

On my "yes, definitely, to a point where I've figured out how to pay for it":

Boss ES-8 switcher

Maybe:
A Flying V of some type or another

We'll see based on review/availability:
Behringer Deepmind 12

Guitar options:
1) Accept that I have become a one-guitar-guy and keep what I have
2) Accept that I have become a one-guitar-guy and have a new EGC built instead of what I have.
3) Build a Frankenstein as my 2nd guitar
4) Buy a 30" Bass VI EGC as my 2nd guitar

Pedal Options:
1) Sell 75% of what I have
2) Or start hoarding/buying pedals
3) Forget pedals and get into a modular synthesizer setup

Guitar and pedal options are not mutually exclusive.

Acquire: combo amp, SM57, MD421, D112, 4/8/16 track recorder.

Wire up a board (have all of the important pedals) and my guitar to my liking.

Get better at soldering/building pedals.

Then play/record as much as possible.
