I'd go with a Rat or an Ibanez TS-7.

As much as rats are my favourite pedal, I never really think of them as overdrive. They're a main distortion sound for me!
It's gotta be the sd1. Sounds better than a tubescreamer (asymmetrical clipping!), can be had at every single music shop ever for pennies, and easy to dial in on any random backline you might be using.
Also this thread is making me feel better about leaving guitars and gear at dive bars when drunk. Misery loves company.
