I had one for weeks and it was indeed awesome and I loved it. Then I found I could replicate everything I liked about it with my Pitchfactor, plus, have presets for each of these sounds.

That is a fine counterpoint, i would just posit that it is a lot of pedal doing a very specific and relatively new thing, and it deserves some time and love to really figure it out. The first day i plugged it in, i was lucky enough to stumble into sounds i liked, but mostly because i've fucked around a lot with delay and granular synthesis as separate technologies, and i kinda just put the two together in my mind, but even then, i was sorta just turning knobs willy-nilly for a few days. I love it, though. It does something really special. I know the H9 is amazing and cheap for what it has, but i can't fuck around with that few knobs for the amount of controls and parameters you actually have. So, probably the Pitchfactor if i ever did decide to dump the Particle and the Timebender for one thing. But lets face it, the Particle and Timebender are never leaving me. (I hope)

It's actually really simple, you have the rotary that selects which mode, and then it's a fairly finite number of controls that are actually well chosen and intuitive for their mode. The only thing i dislike is the placement of the feedback knob.

Counter-counterpoint: There's no accounting for user error.

I love complicated gear, but the H9 was too much stuff packed into too 'intuitive' (or insert buzzword or your choice) a package. Like buying a laptop and only being able to use arrow keys to do anything. So I went *back* to the PF that I sold to get the H9. Not sexy to burst anyone's GAS bubble, but I really do think that you're covered with a TB/Particle combo. The best algorithms on the H9 come from the PF, anyway...so, if you feel a burning need to find out, just hang out with Brandsmannen.
tl;dr: Pitchfactor is rad, but can limit people because of its depth. I actually just listened to a podcast on the way to work where Blonde Redhead literally name-checked the PF as a tool that caused disagreements over how it should be used in their songwriting process.

Yeah that's true. It didn't help that I was fiddling with it while people were jamming, so the only things that stuck out were the really over the top and (IMO) obnoxious settings. Also I'm definitely spoiled by Ableton + Max for Live when it comes to these sorts of effects.
